You have obviously become a very hard man to impress. Gaelic Warrior and Lossiemouth were both sensational the way they went about their business.
Also, Chianti Classico turned in a superb performance to win a handicap from a supposed Irish good thing.
Ivy Grower 1 The Needle 0.

I am the quintessential miserable old git. True the Ricci winners were very good but jeeesus that mullet haircut <laugh>

Lossiemouth was the most impressive winner of the day, for me. The way she travelled and then pulled away after the final
jump was very easy on the eye. Granted it wasn’t a strong field but a lot of doubt surrounded her before the race and she showed what a class act, she really is.

She would have been very interesting in the Champion Hurdle

I hope they don’t stick to mopping up the mares hurdle every year, now. I suppose a go at next years champion hurdle will all depend on if CH comes back the same horse.

Just a note on today’s racing, if you’re going tomorrow and driving please get there early because if you park opposite the track on the green car park (joke as not a blade of grass) it isa mud bath and if you have the misfortune of being guided to the lower fields be prepared to wait an age to get out hundreds of cars stuck in the mud and the traffic control is appalling! Obviously just my thoughts but a great days racing

I couldn't bring myself to come on to the forum last night and post this.

I was absolutely gutted to see the demise of Highland Hunter with my own eyes, for those that don't know, he was the apple of the eye of Keagan Kirby, and just last week he led the funeral procession. That was after a gutsy front running performance in a veterans chase.

This week, he tried to do the same at Cheltenham and sadly lost his life. It happened in front of the Guinness Grandstand and three moments will probably stay with me for a long time.

The moment the gallant horse fell, and the sheer look of horror in Paddy Brennan's eyes. We all know Paddy has been around for a while, but this hit him hard, its a horse his family own. Second, the absolute devastation of the lass who was looking after him, she was obviously in tears and was so for quite a while, she thankfully had the support from the yards travelling head lass, and then Charlie and Fergal.

Finally, the fact that the first thing Fergal did when he arrived at the scene was to put his arm around the lass and seemed to make sure she was ok. After this it was great to see the lass and travelling head lass walking Teorie around later in the card.

I just hope they manage to break the yard Cheltenham Festival hoodoo.

Sorry to hear this and to all involved. This sport can be so harsh.
