Could be four points of relegation Saturday as i do not see us beating Sunderland and results go against us. LM is trying to play a different way and those players do not seem able to. Bottom six come the season end me thinks.
I would say our fan base. We have 40% of fans slitting their wrists and 40% swearing blind were dominating games and better under Manning. Both a blight on our club. Even though we’re 4 without a win and never went more than 2 without a win under Pearson.
The bottom teams are improving well all but 2 maybe! at the mo ... but Rotherham and Sheff Wed do have the players to improve! tonight Norwich can put 4 puts between us Sheff best to hope for is a draw they would 12pts below us then Coventry could put us down a place [ W or D ] and be 2 pts above us Birmingham could be on level points or 2 behind neither Plymouth or QPR can affect our lge position except get point/ points closer Millwall as above no affect on outr position a point of 3 closer if the get a result though!
From March 13th 2021 we went without a win until 20th July which was preseason. So 10 games with 3 draws. So let’s not make things up.
You keep saying all Nige bought was league one dross, but most of his signings were free. He was given pennies in comparison to the money the club brought in from selling player, and also in comparison to the money the club saved from getting rid of the players from the overspending of LJ. I honestly don’t know what you were expecting him to do. He had one arm tied behind his back and was dropped in the ocean and told “keep your head above water”. At least he had command of the players he was left with at his disposal and points were being won. At no point under NP did I look at a fixture and think “well we aren’t getting anything there”, the possibility of a draw or win was always realistic. Under Manning, I honestly can’t see where a single point is going to come now. Happy to give him until the end of the season and I’ll be happy with him keeping us up. But I don’t want to see him being given a single penny to spend on transfers. Freebies and make do with what we have to show his talent as a manager.
Changes Are Not Evident – Former Championship Star Has Say On Liam Manning At Bristol City Former Championship star Sam Parkin has hailed Bristol City boss Liam Manning as a talented coach, but admitted that he has seen no evident changes in the Robins’ style since his arrival. Bristol City parted ways with Nigel Pearson after a disappointing start to the season and last month appointed former Oxford United boss Manning as their manager. However, under Manning, Bristol City have yet to turn their season around, as they have only secured five points in six games. Parkin believes that the Robins were not drastically bad under Pearson and pointed out that it is a difficult job for Manning to come in mid-season and change things around as he will need time to bed in his methods. He thinks that the Bristol City boss is a talented manager, but stressed that he has not noticed any evident changes in the Robins’ games under him so far. “Probably quite difficult coming in mid-season when things were not going drastically badly at Bristol City”, Parkin said on the What the EFL podcast. “I think they spoke about the new manager coming in and implementing his kind of style that they want to run through the football club and I do not think it has been particularly evident. “I think it is just one win in six under him and I think a lot of the supporters probably would be thinking it would have been better with sticking with Nigel Pearson for a little bit longer, so I think it is the bedding period and it might take some time. He is a talented coach, but at the moment, changes are not really evident.” Bristol City are winless in their last four league games and on Saturday they will welcome Sunderland to Ashton Gate. https://insidefutbol.com/2023/12/13...tle-united-team-vs-ac-milan-confirmed/629398/
I feel sorry for LM. Told by 2 clowns we were 'under trained ' etc and the poor sod believed it. NP's experience/man management kept us above where we should be in the league. Still hoping that LM can turn it around. He sounds downbeat in interviews and I start to worry for him.......and us. And may the Lord help JL if it goes wrong Saturday.
Since Liam came on board I don't think the players are buying into anything he is trying to get over and if excitement was his intent then it has failed dismally. The times during his matches where I have thought we are better than before are few and far between and it doesn't take long for our issues to kick back to full view and the mistakes always cost us dearly. So many in the starting eleven fail to impress but when they are substituted for other players who are no better, and that's being kind, the mood of the game may change but in the end it makes no difference to the outcome. This sub-standard level of football has been on view for way too long and I have grave doubts that we will see respite, either in the short term or after the transfer window, because all of our troubles must be directed to the only people who can change our fortunes but don't and won't. I am not so sure we have the makings of a decent squad especially when you look at the great young talent that has left Ashton Gate for good money and virtually none of that cash inflow has been re-invested. You get what you deserve Mr Lansdown and to see you ignore the pleas of the supporters over the years means to me that they will not get what they so thoroughly deserve even though they are the life-blood of Bristol City.
Players seem to like the new regime, shame the results are so poor. https://the72.co.uk/2023/12/12/excl...l-city-impact-and-exciting-west-ham-cup-draw/ https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-star-learns-curb-8967557 https://the72.co.uk/2023/12/08/its-...speaks-out-about-possible-contract-extension/ https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/andi-weimann-bristol-city-liam-manning-4438006 https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/rob-dickie-bristol-city-rewarded-8968673 https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/tommy-conway-goes-extra-mile-8960707 https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/liam-manning-bristol-city-ephraim-yeboah-4437831
