Oh, that's bad news for me as Stick has just beat me to it in this race! Makes usual very good case for the selection too. Oh well, feeling a bit glum, but better not change my mind, so here goes:
The (18:05) at Southwell, a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over an extended 3m on rain-softened ground, is an open affair with quite a few in with a chance of winning. An interesting runner is the Midnight Legend gelding, Justshortofabubble, who is much better-known as a winning chaser, than as a hurdler. So, it is slightly odd to see that he has been entered in this hurdle event, and is currently second favourite. It is the trainer's only runner and is making the fairly long trip from near Chepstow to Southwell. Ridden by an experienced NH jockey too. So, that's more than enough blah-blah, this will be today's pick for me. Tongue-strap and cheek-pieces applied, as in previous runs. Ben Jones on board for the Grace Harris yard.
