@Iwant Millwall Don't want to harp on about it (for fear of upsetting HRH), but I was ever present at Selhurst and that includes SIMOD Cup games (remember those?). Between 1986 and 1990 I did over 200 consecutive games, home and away ...and those were the days when Luton Town had a membership scheme and getting in up there was a bit tricky We had home fixtures in the crap Full Members Cup competition v Hull and Bradford, and our attendances were around 800 . It was terrible. I also remember Steve Gritt's testimonial at Selhurst , the poor bloke had about 1,500 there from memory.
That is a bit harsh, Super. I agree that Rick has erred in setting up the G21, but the bloke is a proper Charlton man. I hate his politics but you can't knock his Charlton knowledge.
But who did we play that day with all those Millwall bongo brains in attendance... I just can't recall it... I remember a lot of that Vol, but please don't mention Luton, I was there when lost 7-0..
I never understood why the previous board recognised the Trust in the first place, it's just given them a sense of self importance they ill deserve. Perhaps Monsieur Duchatelet will send them to Standard Liege as a feeder trust
Depends nick. Could tell many stories about "our" rick. Unlike him, some have the class not to make it public. Maybe I should start a fanzine?
According to Steve Dixon, the foxy Katrien has now replied to G21, giving them the brush off Good. Go and f..k yourself, you bunch of self important, comb over farts View attachment 30265
Good news, I don't believe in any of these groups, because if they had serious ambition, they would have materialised in the Murray era, but didn't...
I read it as well, on a CL thread somewhere... Can't help with a link, as I tend to skim read that place... Far too many irrelevant posts within threads for my liking...
It reminds me a bit of the sketch in "The Life of Brian" with the Judean People's Front, The People's Front of Judea, etc. As the song goes, the more we pull together, the better we will be, and that applies at all levels in our great club.
http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/20140328-message-from-the-board-1451579.aspx I think this posting from Katrien is a polite way of telling the trust b"//<r off. the words "and be assured that we will be making plans to meet with as broad a spectrum of the fanbase as possible, to ensure all supporters are represented, in the close-season" speak volumes that the new owners recognise that CAST do not have the backing of more than a self interested minority of the support. I take this as a good sign
I read it as being about the splinter pub meeting group and that they're more likely to deal with the Trust, who they already have onside.
Agree 100% I read the statement as follows: 1. We are going to run the Club our way. 2. Having had a look at our fan base over the last 3-4 weeks, we really do possess a large quota of self important pricks 3. Anyone who has given a fiver to CAST has wasted their money 4. Lets all concentrate on the old "bottom line" - staying up - rather than navel gazing. Well said RD and Katrien
I thought Tricky was the link to the fans. RD and Katrien have obviously sussed what we think of him and tucked him away back in his box.
