this is a difficult question tbh. where indeed. The liberty was built for around the £37m mark so at a conservative estimation we wont get much change out of between £80 - £100m ..This is a hell of a lot of money but not impossible if we can spread out the payments over 3-4 seasons.

You would expect the club, if they were to buy The Liberty, that their would be a caveat in the deal for planning consent approval. Anyway I thought this had more or less been approved, only some transportation issues to be resolved.

Guys has any one been to Spurs, Anfield and Goodison, they have bigger capacities and worse transport and roadways, why is everything in Swansea an issue. Maybe a change in council is needed to show they way forward. Councils in these areas are happy to compromise for what the clubs bring to the cities.

Yep, understand. Not sure how the application has been made, but they can apply to do this in phases so the initial planning application should be valid. There can be a time limit on the planning application, and you would think the club would have this nailed down if they were to buy.

Its because of lessons learned from these residential clubs that anyone building a new stadium today are building away from obstructions and problematic transport issues. Liverpool wants a new stadium so do Everton. The amount of cars on the roads today are not the same when these stadiums were built and many clubs are looking to build if they haven't already in less populated areas.

Liverpool have bought the land /houses directly around Anfield and are at atm clearing the land to start expanding the stadium so they're not moving any where soon .

It still is only two main routes really one at the top of Stanley park and on at the bottom with a warren of terrace houses so it's not ideal and to be honest in comparison we're better positioned but the that would be negated by additional numbers attending .Not easy to satisfy everyone especially the locals but there is undeveloped land around Landore and towards llansamlet where it may be possible to build a multi storey car park .The mainline railway from Paddington is a 5 minute walk .What's needed (along with the cash )is the desire to develop the area so everyone benefits ,

I agree but having travelled away to I think all grounds in the Pl ( maybe not Burnley) ours is by far the easiest t get through from the motorway and into the ground.

No not at all. What the club decides to do is what will happen regardless what any of the trust members voted on. All i am saying is i voted with the ones who think at this present time it would be a mistake and the reasons what were said... Whatever the club decides to do is up to them and so be it, we will just have to accept it and hope they make the right decisions....

If I remember correctly at the time of the stadium construction the plan was to reopen the Landore Halt. This did not go ahead due to the cost and Health and Safety issues.

No health and safety issue is insurmountable but the main factor would have been the cost Walk ways over the bypass would keep pedestrians away from the traffic although segregation maybe be a problem as the North stand is ideally positioned fro the away fans to get them in and away double quick time .

BRUCE Roberts, president of Swansea Bay Business Club, has appealed for those behind the stadium expansion to consider the former Landore railway station as a means to improve transport links to the stadium and surrounding retail park.

Speaking of the approved plans, Mr Roberts said: "I am alongside the many people from this city who are very pleased with the achievements of the Swans and the subsequent effect

"Anybody who has visited the Liberty on a match day can see that transport around the stadium is a major issue, however there are obvious resolutions namely the reopening of Landore railway station.

Yeah - the public transport is great in Sydney - I worked at the stadium at Olympic park quite often - even for the State of Origin game - it's easy to get out of there.
