Did you know they have a "Designated Survivor" at every Presidential inauguration. This is because the outgoing pres & Vice Pres is there together with the incoming ones. So if say a bomb went off and killed all 4 the "Designated Survivor" would take over until a new President was elected. The DS has to be at a secret location away from Washington and heavily guarded.

Yes...There's even a drama series titled "Designated Survivor" starring Kiefer Sutherland where he's exactly that......on Netflix

"From now on, it has got to be America first"

Russia and Putin are his friends. Europe should stand on their own and not rely on the US and China is the enemy. NATO is obsolete.

The world is a much more dangerous place as from today.

I love this, America and Britain have cost millions of lives exporting/enforcing "democracy" on other parts of the world who obviously needed our help. Now we have had a couple of democratic votes that have gone against some peoples wishes all we get are whinges and protests <doh>

Good job we didn't all start out owning AK47s, **** knows how it could all end up <yikes>

Democracy in action <ok>
He's a self confessed sexual predator and a known racist. My preference would be that he's gang raped daily in prison by non whites but as he's President of 'Murica that's unlikely to happen so I hope for an assassination sooner rather than later :emoticon-0148-yes:

Whinges and protests are kinda part of that democracy package D...and have tended to be effective from time to time.

Not sure what the automatic rifles had to do with the marches today? They were all reported to be quite warm and peaceful..the odd batty celeb speech the obvious exception.

Or are you talking about the 200 anarchists yesterday? Sure that's what anarchists do...hijack any demonstration and try to cause...well ...anarchy!

Yet the people voted him in.
It's like Sturgeon whinging that Scotland didn't vote for Brexit and completely ignoring the fact they voted to stay part of Britain (meaning they were part of a whole not separate)immediately before that vote or, that if almost half of the Scots who did vote hadn't voted for Brexit it would never have happened.
We either want democracy or we want what we personally want, we cant have it both ways.

!
Nope, I was talking/thinking more of the country's we have exported democracy to, at least here anarchists tend to throw bricks and set cars on fire due to the lack of arms among the general populous.

Have to say I tend to agree with this <ok>

It's the kind of **** Western powers pull because they don't like a democratically elected government in some middle-east country and then we wonder why democracy never flourishes there. Full conviction in democracy IF we truly believe in it. Democracy is a swinging pendulum always trying to find its way to a happy medium. It may throw up some ****ing nutcases, but trust the ppl to redress the balance eventually.

Hmmm. Wanting what we personally want can be perfectly democratic..as can being unhappy (loudly) that we didn't get it. No longer accepting the agreed mechanisms by which we try to get what we want is the undemocratic bit.

Is the problem not more that (if we are still pretending we are actually trying to export our democratic ideals) we can't accept that others have a different idea for democracy or shudder..don't really want democracy at all?
