He hasn't posted since 9 PM UK time last night. Hope he didn't bet the farm on Hillary winning.

 

This was the theme in a couple of episodes of Ancient Aliens -- a series with mixed degrees of credibility, some episodes excellent and thought provoking, others utter schoite. Bit like this thread, really.

The only similarity with Trump that I can see is that he also looks like a twat.

Must have missed those episodes that had any degrees of credibility. The ones I have seen were laughable. They make They made even Erich Von Daniken seem rational.

 

But can I forgive myself, that is the real issue.

 

Tenfoot was a South Stand family area chap recently until he packed it in.(Except for his foray into the NE Corner with the banner and the subsequent shenanigans). He used to regularly tell us of the cracking atmosphere generated in the SE Corner. Never noticed it nearby in E11.

He has been working on a 100 day plan behind the scenes with Congressional leaders. No details have leaked out yet, but one can be sure repeal of the Affordable Care Act and replaced with a (nominally) market-based system is in the works. There will certainly be tax cuts, particularly for those on businesses. I suspect repeal and replace of Dodd-Frank (the monumentally stupid response to the 2008 mortgage-backed securities crisis) is also in the works. That will be part of a general initiative to dismantle our arcane and labrynthine regulatory state, which combined with high corporate taxes inhibits economic growth. He will have a friendly House for all of that, but the Senate may be problematic. With a narrow majority, it only takes a handful of Senators to hold legislation hostage. The US Senate has become our pre-1911 House of Lords.

I've notice the comments about nuking Mexico and turning away immigrants. Folks get too caught up in campaign rhetoric and don't consider what is behind them. Trump may or may not try to build a wall, but he will darned sure launch initiatives to stem the tide of illegal immigration along our southern border. He will also be happy to stick Europe with the Syrian refugees. No need to ship them halfway across the world. We won't be nuking anyone else any time soon, though the days of a US President apologizing for his country will definitely be over.

 

He told people what they wanted to hear to get elected. Once elected he'll do what Wall Street want him to do. If Wall Street want illegal immigrants then he'll do nothing about the border. He'll need plenty of cheap labour to re-build the US's infrastructure?
