1.83m and 90kg = shade over 6' and about 14st 2lb = quite scary running towards you at speed if you are a defender!
worth 5 mill at a push..id imagine Twatford are trying to create a bidding war.agent at work id wager
im sure we can get some real proven quality for 10mill +,physical presence running at defenders type of player doesnt warrant that kind of cash.
Its madness to flog Remy for £8.5m and then pay £9.6m for Deeney. Only at QPR could that lunacy happen
If we pay what's rumoured for him and he scores less than 15 league goals it will be a failure. Madness, and that's why I don't believe it.
I could see us signing Deeney Stan but as Deano says £5m not nearer double that. Surely Eto on a free wouldnt cost anything like that and hes proven at this level. Football is stupid. Sorry for lack of apostrophes am typing this from sun lounger on phone
Troy Deeney @T_Deeney · 1h Just to check with the people congratulating me on my move... Where have I gone and how much for?? I need to tell my mom the good news
Surely the draw of Premier League football should be enough for a relatively unproven individual like Deeney. If not, I wish him well in the Championship. Probably not the right sort any way. We should be looking for hungry, keen and eager players who just want to show their abilities on one of the best stages in the world.
Yes. But we shouldn't be paying more for the likes of Deeney, than what we get for Remy. The error is probably already made if Remy's contract allows him to still leave now for around £8.5 million.
Its been said many times, Remy only came to us, because he thought he could use us to showcase his skills in the EPL. He forced us to put in low buy-out clauses - he wouldn't have joined us otherwise. You're comparing apples and oranges - no comparison
This! Just because Remy has been sold for £8.5m as per the clause, it does not mean that's all we think he's worth. However, I don't think Deeney is worth anywhere near £10m, but unfortunatley it's a seller's market when it comes to goal scorers.
There is comparison, The low buy out clause could and should have been relegation applicable only. If it still applies about 19 months later when we are back in the PL it was a major error,
Its all pure conjecture, who did what for what reason. Just ripping into Management/Board for one interpretation, as some are saying, is pointless. Then using that interpretation to compare to another signing, then becomes hypothetical mathematical gymnastics; once again - pointless. Contract prices are extremely difficult to compare without knowing all contract terms.
Agree with your last sentance, but nevertheless youngish strikers who have done well in the Championship seem to be costing around £ 10 million, and it is quite relevant to compare this price level to what we seem likely to fetch for a youngish striker who has done well in the French top League, the PL, and plays for France. We often do poor business as a Club, and this must get better.
Now showing second in football headlines on SSN app. If we could get him at the right price I would feel very excited to have him in the team/squad
