I would like to think that Troy did one very bad thing for whatever reason - whether it was to support family or whatever. He is being duly punished but as a young man I would hope he will have learnt his lesson and go on to be a far better person in the future. If he does the same thing again then it will be far less likely people will forgive and forget too easily

Yorkie, i have to admit i have a problem comparing Deeney with MK. Deeney is a first offender as far as we know, and we can only hope he will be remorseful and will use his experience in a positive way. He did what he did, as Lloydinio said, because his brother was getting attacked...whose to say none of us wouldn't do the same in similar situations. Meanwhile, MK, good striker or not, is a repeat offender, who shows no remorse, nor any respect for women. I for one would not want MK back anywhere near our club. It's bad enough he's been on our pitch with the opposition. But Deeney i would give a second chance to...he has paid his price for his offense, and as long as he proves he's learned from it, i'd willingly take him back.

When his child starts school, how many parents of his/her classmates will want their child not to be friends with him/her because of what TD has done?

Probably because he is a first time offender, kept his nose clean and seen as a very low risk of re-offending Zen - and as you wrote, a lot of others waiting to fill his cell! It's how it works these days..
Still not sure what to make of this one, I guess, like some of you mentioned, he is a first time offender and should be let back. I hope he can find form where he left off.

Not sure if its a good idea to have someone who is a potential trouble maker in the dressing room.
With all the new arrivals he may struggle to get a start, get frustrated and cause some aggro.
Also with Zola saying he wants to reduce the size of the squad...not sure whether he will even think he needs him.

I don't think he has a record in football as a trouble maker - he got drunk did something stupid and paid the price - let's see if he can get fit and get his career back on the road
Agreed - and I don't really view GZ as the type to discard a player without giving him the chance to prove himself. Let's face it, he is persisting with Yeates........
If he is coming back to the club to play he might be tagged - as i think you get released up to two months early on a tag - so if he plays and scores by the ball hitting his tag and flying off at a funny angle thus deceiving the opposition goalie - is this rough justice?

I think he should be given a second chance. He admitted he did wrong and has said sorry several times to all parties. Lets give him a chance to show he means it and to make a mends. Also i think we need him! we seem to lack goals and i feel he might be the answer.
True, the experience he's had and GZ's guidance could put him on the right track and get back to playing and scoring goals.
Agree with all of this. Except that, as with any player, Deeney will have to prove that he is ready to displace Iwelumo and Geijo from the team.
Although I do find it bizarre that it's okay for a player to play whilst he has got a tag around his ankle that he is not allowed to damage or remove. Nothing to do with morals, just the practicality of it.
I completely agree. He has to prove he is the best player, but if he can get back to form quickly then i think Zola would prefer him over Iwelumo. But only time will tell. He may not even stay at the club.
