Ruiz is on wages much lower than our top earners, who are at best, themselves on average for the premiership. Jol therefore met the Board remit of lowering the age and the wage bill. Ruiz may actually turn out to be a bargain on those terms. In the short term and a tad disturbing has been the confusion over his eligibility to play in Europe and whether he was a 'striker'. Jol has said he always knew the answer to both was "no". Whatever the truth of the matter, expectations were falsely raised at the time of his signing.
Trotta looks a very good prospect for your boys. As a Wycombe fan it is obvious that he can and WILL play at a higher level. Both goals have been excellent finishes as well, one from just inside the box and the other from about 25 yards. The other good thing is that he has got 2 in 2 for a team low on confidence and sitting in the bottom 2 of the table, just imagine how he would be getting on in a team bristling with confidence.......... Would be best for both parties to let him stay with WWFC and enjoy the guaranteed competitive football until the end of the season in my opinion. CHEERS!!
Yes and that's my point. 'He started brightly', which is precisely what Trotta has done. At this stage in LDVs loan, he was doing (more or less) as well as Trotta is now. I'm not saying Trotta isn't ready, I'm just saying it's too soon to make rash decisions about rushing him back to the club and into the first team. EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to quote Bandit's previous comment on LDV and Trotta, which this is a reply to. There, all cleared up now.
I don't think you quite got what I meant Bidley. You can want to sign for a club and not want to play for them. Take Anelka or Robbie Keane for example, both are being paid an obscene amount of money to be there, but do they really want to step down from the PL to some unknown amateur league? Not really. Ruiz probably did want to sign for us due to the contract he was offered, but probably wanted to play for Tottenham (which is becoming a running theme at FFC)
Although the lure of bigger wages and a chance to use us as a stepping stone might have entered his thinking.
Having scores his third goal for his adopted club yesterday, Trotta has said he'd like to extend his loan period. Looks like he reads the wise comments from this board.
Trotta's loan deal has now been extended until mid-Jan. Seems like a good move for all concerned. In other Fulham-related Wycombe Wanderers news, Kevin Betsy has left Adams Park by mutual consent.
That's very good news. I've got tickets to see Bournemouth at home to Wycombe on Jan 2nd. If Trotta plays, I'll post a report on him sometime after that.
Sounds good, Captain. They obviously like him at Wycombe and guess what squad number they have given him ? http://http://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10430~2553815,00.html Out of the transfer window I understand loans are limited to 3 months so his loan is only extended by 1 month. Will be interesting to see what happens on 15th January.
