As part of the celebrations a parade will be taking place from St James’ Park to the Town Moor between 16:00 to 18:00 with road closures in place along the route, the parade route will require the following closures;
Barrack Road from Stanhope Street to St. James Boulevard, Gallowgate, St. James Boulevard from Westgate Road to Gallowgate, Percy Street, Blackett Street, New Bridge Street West (Westbound) from John Dobson Street to Pilgrim Street, Barras Bridge, St. Mary’s Place from John Dobson Street to Barras Bridge/Percy Street.
The whole route will be closed from 4pm and will reopen in sections once parade and all people following has passed when it is safe to do so.
Erm, isn’t loads of that now pedestrianised? And other parts one way?Would have been better coming up Grey St though, more iconic and people spread out more, outside SJP and Percy st are going to be ridiculously packed.

I can’t believe it’s not coming through Manchester.from the Newcastle Council

And if they could have popped into mine on the way as well, that would have been good.Would have been better coming up Grey St though, more iconic and people spread out more, outside SJP and Percy st are going to be ridiculously packed.

But they only going one way.Erm, isn’t loads of that now pedestrianised? And other parts one way?![]()

We are mate. We’re sorting details out of where and when.I’m in Toon this weekend, are any of you old buggers meeting up before crashing the parade?

Priority area with stage etcI have a ticket but wtf is this for? Can I go anywhere in the Moor or is there some kind of priority areas?
Priority area with stage etc
You can go anytime, but it’s open from 13.30. Personally think about 17:30 - 18:00 will be when the players get there with trophyMine just says general area or something there's no details on it
And 1. 30? I thought it starts at like 4pm and ends at 8pm.? Am I supposed to stand in field for 6. 5 hrs setting up a telescope to see the stage?
