All united fans are plastics , not just the latecomers .

    Bunch of bedwetting fairy cocksuckers.

Hope that clears that particular set of "fans " up .:cheesy:

But when Bacon face finally kicks the bucket , they will be irrelevant again , you will find them in gutters , spaced out on cheap gin , mumbling to them selves quietly......

" 20 ...........20 titles we had ........... thats why we were the best ...no one can take that away ......... 20 ":cheesy::cheesy:

Mate I'm a scouser born and bread and seen it all through the 70s to our last CL final in 2007 and have learned for certain what the true definition of a 'plastic' is and you are wrong on this one.

A plastic has always been and always will be a glory-hunting fan. A fan who CHOOSES of their own free will (not born into supporting a certain club thru family and/or friends or not supporting your local team or team of your place of origin/where you grew up) to support a team that has at least a certain level of consistent success at the time of a person deciding to 'support' said team.

I have seen a lot of these types of supporters come and go to Liverpool over the years especially in late 70s and 80s, and then seen them all switch to Utd by the mid 90s when we'd fallen behind. Its always the same but now its kids/teens and sometimes grown men deciding to support Chelsea/City as these seem more glamorous and spend more money on the best players than any other teams.

Its not as straight forward as this though. Its a lot more nuanced as it can also to apply to teams who have recently became 'successful' compared to what they've known historically. The fans I see moaning about 'plastics' the most currently are life-long Swansea fans.

A lot of people from around Swansea didn't fancy supporting them when they were growing up and first started getting into football as they've spent most of their time in the lower leagues (had a bit of success in rising thru the leagues to top division under Toshack but didn't last and then had cash problems and plummeted again) so weren't fashionable enough. Therefore many of them chose to support Liverpool/Everton/Utd instead.

Now Swansea are back in the top league, and very en vogue because of their attractive style of play, a lot of people in and around the City have suddenly decided that they WERE Swans after all and always had been and it was about time they started going the Liberty to watch THEIR team making it very hard for life-long goers to get tickets for the game now.

I have no problem whatsoever with fans that chose to support us because we were successful back then, as we were also the best team, who played the best looking football in 70s and 80s so can understand why people with no ties to Liverpool would be attracted to follow the club. All I'd say is if you do, you do it for life, and you hang around and support us when were **** too, and support the team any and every way you can back into the good times. If you bail when the going gets tough and support the new best team instead you're a **** basically.
