I think we were lucky to get Pack with Kelly's injury. But that worry's me that it took Kelly's injury to spark some like into SoD. Pack should of been a must buy anyway. Can you imagin ------------Fielding---------- Molony---Flint-Williams--Cunnigham ------------Wynter--------- Kelly--------Pack-------Bryan ---------Baldock---JET-- with Molony and Cunningham overlapping Kelly and Bryan
Neither - I did nothing At the time I thought the shape of the side needed changing (I know SoD said it was tactics not shape), so I thought it a reasonable thing to do
F*** me people. 3 games in! Last season at this point we were second after putting 4 past both Palace and Cardiff. Both Palace and Cardiff had got off to bad starts. Table after 46 games had Cardiff and Palace in the top 6 and us bottom. Chill out and see where we stand after 10-15 games. Jesus I can't stand sections of our fans sometimes. For what it's worth I think we will improve vastly and the young ones are learning fast. On second half display we deserved a point. Perspective please.
I do hope your'e right Ashton Matt but something tells me we will continue to struggle over the next month but hoope I'm wrong.
Mike no disrespect, but we are looking better than we have done in the past few years. Yes results have gone against us and as people have said we have a young team looking to gel together. Instead off being impatient lets wait and see what happens come Christmas. We won't be relegated this year and most probably not be promoted but we are in a rebuild and that will take time. SoD has obviously seen that NK is a weak link and subbed him twice and we improve. Lets be patient and let the team rebuild because if we start getting restless and start calling for change we could end up with quick fixes that IMO has created the mess we find ourselves in. This time last year you was praising the board, saying we have a young up and coming manager and a few weeks later it was the board are ****e for employing this up and coming manager. Lets just be patient it will improve Coventry was a set back, but Wolves will win this league so no shame in retaining them and as a Wolves fan said for 20-30 minutes we was fantastic to watch and that's from an outsiders view. So soon it will click and we play for 90 minutes.
'SoD has obviously seen that NK is a weak link and subbed him twice and we improve' ****ing Hilarious. Do you really need to be kicked in the balls to know it hurts.
Don't quote me on anything to do with Kilkenny I didn't even want him when we signed him, so at least I've been true to form throughout his time with us.
Well said Matt,46 games not three as you say,we will get better and better, there will not be any better than Wolves.
This was always going to be a tough start - next week will not be easy either There are plenty of positives If nothing else this year's team have shown a bit of ticker (i.e. character to come back)
When we were relegated and I saw the youngsters we were signing I first thought that it would be a hard start to the season then things would get better after watching some of the highlight videos I thought I was getting overly depressed and that things might not be as bad as I had first thought. However I was right in my first thoughts it will take 8-10 games for this team to gel properly, so far they have only played 4 games against L1 opposition and despite some absolute howlers in the games against Bradford and Coventry we have shown a degree of fight that was missing from the team last year. Personally I think that Kilkenny can not play in the same team as Jay E Thomas and as JET is by far the better player Kilkenny at best should be a sub for JET. I would rather see us with two forwards JET with a free role 3 midfielders excluding the whinger and the defense as it was yesterday. However S O'D is right whoever he brings in as the new striker has to be able to do the job for us and at the right price, wages and signing fee if any. I am far from discouraged so far Baldock has started the season scoring goals but even he says he should have scored a couple more already at least plus JET is also scoring get another striker who can and will score into that mix and things will soon start to look different, been talking to a friend who went to the game yesterday his summing up of the game went like this First Half poor but going in one down(and he didn't think many keepers could have saved that free kick) was a major improvement on the performance on Sunday mainly because Sean didn't wait til half time to make a change when he saw it wasn't working. Second Half in his opinion we outplayed Wolves for long parts of the second half as much as they had out played us in the first and he thinks we were unlucky to lose had we taken one of the chances after JET scored he thinks we would have probably won. Be that as it may the youngsters are showing that they can learn from their mistakes as in the last two games the second half has been better than the first. I keep trying to get him to buy a computer and get on here but he's a real luddite where computers are concerned says he keeps breaking them.
I dont understand i'm truly pissed off aswell, but i read over and over again pre season on here, we have a really hard first month and the new and young players will have to gel, and expect it to take 8-12 games! Why has this view changed for so many, we're gutted yes, but, surely its way too early to panic? we all wanted to win from the off and win all home games and most away games, but this is the reality now of where we are at the moment. yes, i will panic a little if come christmas we are in the bottom 3 way off the pace, but thats 4 months away, lets keep our fingers crossed but more importantly STAY POSITIVE BEHIND THE TEAM and give our FULL SUPPORT NO MATTER WHAT! COYR CTID
Perhaps most are feeling how I do at the moment. I expected nothing from August's fixtures for all the reasons you have stated - young team, inexperienced, needing time to gel and so on. What for me is so frustrating is that the youngsters and new signings have been doing better than I anticipated. I even don't think Fieldings "walkabout v Bradford" was his fault. I am very frustrated because most of the mistakes have come from three senior players who were among those others who let us down so badly last season and the rest of them have pissed off to other Championship sides even though they proved last year they were not good even for that level. If we had not had those in the team this season, we might well have had more points now than we have. That's why I'm upset!
Thinking back to last season, we had 7 points from 3 games and were top of the league (albeit for about 3 hours), we had just beaten what would turn out to be the league champions with a sublime goal from Woolford of all people. We all know what happened- Three games is too early to judge- I remember the season Man U won their first 10 games and still didn't finish top- I will feel more comfortable when I see some points on the board but I think its too early to be worrying yet-
