I make a point of taking communion twice a month as a minimum but if she was my vicar I'd never miss a service. <whistle>

She doesn't really mean it, she's actually very religious and I have no doubt she'll light a candle for poor old Trig tonight.

The candle will probably be stuck up her fanny at the time but that's beside the point. :)

As soon as they introduced Cassandra and Raquel the programme went seriously down hill and turned into an embarrassment! (Not their fault). The Batman & Robin scene? I didnt find funny at all! The early episodes, before it became popular were excellent! Also the xmas special To Hull & Back was superb! Then the ladies entered the scene and it turned into sentimental tosh!

Yes it was pretty much ruined by them getting birds, they got much better material out of them being single and chasing after sorts.

    My favourite moment was:

"Brace yourself Rodney, brace yourself" .............. <SMASH>

This. When it started to tug at the heartstrings, it also started to tug cock. Majorly. The Hull one, Yuppie Love, Jolly Boys Outing and the one where they start bottling tap water were brilliant.

Other than To Hull and Back, the episodes you mention all feature Cassandra; Raquel features in Mother Nature's Son (Peckham Spring) and Jolly Boys.

Sorry to be pedantic, Jip, but I am an aficionado of Only Fools.

Personally, I prefer the earlier episodes with Grandad and Uncle Albert, but some of the later stuff with the women is superb.

The last three episodes are anathema to me, though. Only Fools ended when they sold the watch and made good. Anything after is a parody.

'They're not just ordinary lawnmower engines.........they're BROKEN lawnmower engines!

My early favourite was when Rodders IS the Peckham Pouncer!

Also the one when Del nearly goes to Australia with Jumbo! An episode with plently of laughs but emotion also!

One of the better 'later' ones was the one with the gold chains! It was a brilliant story! Agreed it should have ended when the sold the watch! These episodes were generally poor by the earlier standards, but they were watchable! The ones afterwards I havnt been able to watch any of them right through! Denzil - 'he could be Al-Qaeda', Del - 'dont be stupid, does he look like he works in a furniture store!' <cringe>.....really bad!

I thought Yuppie Love was quite early? And I know Raquel and Cassandra were in JBO, but they don't play much of a part. The ones when Del goes shooting with the toffs, and when Del and Rodney paint that bird's house; they were quite early weren't they? Both crackers <ok>

Only Fools is like The Simpsons, superb at first and past it's sell by date after 7 or 8 years. I've watched some of the recent SImpsons and they are gash.

If you'd actually seen recent Simpsons you'd take that back. They've been brilliant.

Most comedies are victims of their own success ultimately. They get big audiences so more series get commissioned and the plots get more and more lame.Phoenix Nights and Father Ted are examples of those that quit while they were ahead and left us wanting more.dad's Army went on a bit but got away with it,different era though.
