Thanks to all the BCFC and Saints fans congratulating us on our long-awaited victory <ok>

I've read through the judgement that Qwerty kindly posted. It is clear that any appeal would be financial suicide as TRASH will become solely liable and Justice Hickinbottom has made it abundantly clear that there are no grounds whatsoever.

It was always a spurious JR designed to damage the club and Sainsburys. This will do enormous damage to the politicians associated with TRASH - Willingham has already stated that he's leaving Bristol, I don't believe we'll hear much from Radice over the coming months.

I think that the Green Party will reap their just desserts at the ballot box next election.
 
Congratulations to all at the Rovers, your years of trying has finally come to fruition, a stadium to call your own...pleased for all the "LOYAL" fans that has stayed supporting their club. Shame our club could not get our new stadium, however Ashton Gate is our spiritual home & should look splendid when refurbishment is complete...Bristol football has a far brighter future, cheers, City's no1 fan.
 
On another topic....will Rovers now be known as the conservative club (after the huge help from the tory MP) while City remains the old traditional working class club!!!

the tory mp helped a lot with the petition but thats because she was a gashead though. there were other parties in the decision at the council who voted for sainsburys as well ;)

Seems they are appealing the decision <grr>

TRASHorfield has been advised by its legal team that there are good grounds for appealing the result of the judicial review and have therefore initiated appeal proceedings.

However, I would like to announce that I have today resigned as a Director of TRASHorfield Ltd.

I supported the judicial review because I felt that we had a good chance of the judge finding in our favour. I absolutely stand by our use of the democratic processes open to us to challenge the Council&#8217;s decision to grant planning permission to Sainsbury&#8217;s. I still think that if the Memorial stadium has to move the site should be used for housing, and will continue campaigning against developments that will cause increased air pollution, congestion and damage to local shops. As a local councillor, I have put a considerable amount of time and energy into this and have seen the process through to the point of the Judicial Reveiw as I agreed to.

At this point however, I do not have sufficient confidence in the process to continue as a director of the group.

I wish TRASHorfield well in taking these next steps and we will continue to work together to support the Gloucester Road and the community.

I was thinking the same when I read his comment, no wonder he's been quiet on here with all that partitioning
