Rhodes would be top of my list too, but I fear he'll go elsewhere. With the possibility of Sordell signing, what does this mean for Trotta?
Agreed with Rhodes, but we won't get him for anything like £3-4m. I'd be surprised to see Huddersfield sell for less than 7.5m, 5m at the very least. I know that's a lot for a youngster but that's the point - Huddersfield don't want to sell and will only do so for silly money. Where would signing Sordell leave Trotta? Exactly where signing anyone else would! The fact we were happy to extend the loan to Wycombe suggests that our coaching staff don't think Trotta's ready for the Premier league yet. That may have changed by August, but their judgement won't be affected by whether or not we've signed other young strikers. We seem to all agree that we need someone new coming in this window, so let's make sure we get someone who is ready to compete for a place in the team.
This is what I'm saying, is he going to be a youth player to be groomed to eventually come in the first team, or go straight on the team sheet? If it's the former, then surely it doesn't look great for Trotta. Incidentally, what's going on with Dalla Valle?
