I wish I could write a long article but I can't be bothered. However, I will use this opportunity to set up a thread so everyone can show appreciation to the truly transformative signings this club has made over the past 4-5 years to take us from mid table to literally the best club in the world.

I had planned to set up a seperate thread for each one but that might be overkill so I'll list the people who have really made the difference for us. We have made some very good signings but this thread is for the real game changers ....

In no particular order:
  1. Jurgen Klopp - he may not be a player but he is the mastermind and architect behind it all
  2. Sadio Mane - almost single handedly got us CL football which provided us with the springboard to sign other players
  3. Mo Salah - broke the PL record in his first season and has developed into one of the most productive attackers in the world, on par with Messi and Ronaldo
  4. VVD - epitomises the word 'transformative' when you consider how poor our defence was vs the one today. He is literally the second best player in the world and also brings great leadership to the team
  5. Allison - we have longed for a reliable keeper since Reina's prime, and for someone who doesn't make mistakes. However, he does more than that. He makes the difficult look easy and the impossible look possible.
  6. Fabinho - this maybe a controversial one and no doubt he is a class signing but some may not think he belongs in this list. The reason I put him in is because I think he is one of the best DMs in the world and has added more protection to that back line. I club him along with Allison as the two signings that took us from challengers into winners

There are other controversial ones which didn't make the list but would be good to hear everyone's opinions on :

  1. Gini
  2. Robbo
  3. Firmino (not a signing under Klopp but still instrumental)
  4. Matip
  5. Any others ...

Klopp was the most important and influential signing.

With regard to players I think it has to be a pair, one defensive and one attacking. You can't win games consistently with just a great defensive setup or just a great attacking setup. So for me the two most influential players have been Salah and Alisson.

Konchesky.

Major WTF moment. 36 days later Hicks and Gillett were out.

Initially, Jurgen Klopp failed to pay serious attention to our defence, good for him he was quick to learn.
To me, all our players have done excellently well.
