I agree. His actual cost was £4m as the add-ons for promotion and appearances never happened. I doubt he's on high wages, coming from Wigan, and he can play on either wing. We only have 3 wide players in Hernandez, Marshall and Buendia (whose first choice position is AM) and Wildschut offers something different to the others. His tracking back to help the FB is good and he offers a solidity that others might not. An injury to one or more of the others could leave us vulnerable unless DF sees Stiepermann as a viable option.
It's interesting to see how Louis Thompson has hit the ground running this pre-season. Apparently he went without a holiday to stay and get ready and it seems to be paying off.
He (Stiepermann) does appear to be treated as a utility player, filling in where needed. Our new Rob Newman!
Rumour of sorts, Gabriel Kyeremateng was on the bench for U23's on Tuesday. He's a 19 year old striker/right winger who came through the Dortmund youth system but is currently a free agent.

Danny Ward is joining Leicester from Liverpool on a permanent deal, so he won't be the answer to our goalkeeping situation.
We currently have a squad of around 30 players, so it looks like remaining that way. The most likely incomers would be a wide player and a goalkeeper. Leavers could be two from Oliveira, Pinto, Godfrey or Cantwell (on loan) or Wildschut on loan if a wide player comes in. Kelsey Palmer from Chelsea can play AM or out wide. A GK would most likely be on loan.
Sun are suggesting that Schmeichel will be a Chelsea target with Courtios getting his move to RM. Is Schmeichel Jr good enough for a top 4 with european aspirations? Bah!
I think the reality is allot of both. We have got the majority of our business done early, but I doubt the majority of clubs will be dipping as low as we are even when the window slams shut. Just imagine what that number will look like if: Nelson, Pinto, Martin or even Klose go too. Bah!
