£20m. That's under his value. 2 top scorers of last season gone from a side who couldn't score for sh*t. Worrying.
Good luck to him and I really hope he does well for Leicester. £22m+£2m in add-ons and 10% sell on clause seems a good deal to me. At least it's finally settled so that we can now get on with bringing players in. Ben Marshall and Leitner now look to be likely incomers and hopefully Ducksch can be done as well. Then there's Jordan and the Newcastle GK as other possibles.
Fair comment FML, but let's wait and see how our 2 new recruits perform before we get too despondent.
On a much more exciting note, Diallang Jaiyesimi has joined League 2 Yeovil on a season-long loan. He spent time at Grimsby on loan last season. I'm sure Neil Adams is already looking forward to checking up on him...
I don't think any of the money from Jacob, Pritchard, Josh or Madders will ever be seen again. The board has tanked us so hard, that money has already gone.
Good to see you and Duncan are both maintaining your happy go lucky positivity and never say die spirit
I would be ecstatic if we sign Marriot , we can't afford Prem or Championship strikers so a cheeky 4 or 5 mil bid would be about right .
I think he's the best player we've had in my lifetime. I'm back as far as Crook, so perhaps Crook, Hucks, maybe Holt etc. I don't think we've ever lost such an all-round influential talent before. Weirdly i'm not as upset about it either. He deserves to be playing at the top. I suspect he's made a very good decision in LCFC. With respect to them, it's another stepping stone like we were on his journey to the top. Good luck to Madders!
He's certainly up with the best, but there are also a lot of others like Martin Peters, Martin O'Neil, Huckerby and my personal favourite, Chris Sutton, who we sold for £5m way back in 1994. Back to the present, it looks like we'll know about Ducksch in the next few days according to his agent: "We will get a reasonable solution in the next few days."
