He goes firmly into the same category as Goodwillie.

A good player but life in Glasgow would make his heid explode.

    This <ok>

There are clearly better targets than Griffiths. Another rake in the bargain bin if they buy him.

Seriously though, why spend £6 on Djuricic or Snodgrass when the likes of Henderson and Atajic canny get a game?

Why buy Leigh Griffiths, who has attitude problems, but moan about Tony Watt's attitude.

Celtic have been running a slap-hazard transfer policy for a while now. Chuck out a big net and see what we catch.

Agree with this. Unless they are considerably better than what we already have then there is no need. Wasting money on 3 or 4 ****s for £1m each to sit on the bench not good enough to get a game over the players we have, keeping the kids further from the first team rather than spend £4m on 1 decent player

Exactly the point I was attempting to make.

If you're a young player at Celtic it must feel like one step forward, two steps back.

The likes of Henderson play well, show hunger and ability and then are never heard from again.

Apart from Stokes, the only striker we have who knows where the goal is seems to be Watt!

It would be great if we could just blow the whole budget on one star striker, but £6m players come with wages double our top earners atleast! Apart from not really being able to afford £50k wages the team spirit would take abit of a hammering as every player who had five good games would be demanding stupid money.

So we are stuck taking small gambles on unearthed gems, previously injury prone players and players who never quite did it on the big stage first time round. Good when it comes off but ****ing annoying when it dont.

Seen somewhere Griffith has scored two more goals this season than the guy we got out on loan at Notts County!!

We may be as good keeping the money in the bank and recalling him to see if he can step up!

feel sorry for mcgeoch, I thought last season he would really kick on but the broken jaw and lennons inability to give youngsters a chance have killed his development.

when it gets boiled down we have done reasonably well in the buy low sell high market ... but perhaps only because of a couple of notable aberrations which have skewed the figures in our favour, is our fantabulous scouting system as much of a myth as those mud brick hut dwelling kids from a lost african tribe who were brought up on black and white celtic glory ? As an armchair/laptop fan who gives **** all to the club I`m getting disillusioned with our lack of ambition in the signings department, why spend on someone who might be just a little bit better than what you`ve got ? Pointless.

I work with an Aussie and he rates that Williams as well. Says he's a decent player for the money.

Celtic flop Mo Bangura is free to leave says boss Neil Lennon.

NEIL LENNON last night called time on flop Mo Bangura’s Celtic career.

Lennon will now try to ship Bangura out before next Friday’s deadline while trying to snap up two or three new signings, with Scotland cap Griffiths evidently on his radar and in his price range at around £1m.

On former AIK Solna and Elfsborg man Bangura, Lennon said: “It’s reasonable to say that he doesn’t have a future here.

“It just hasn’t worked out for both parties. These things sometimes happen in football.

“We’ve had no enquiries for him yet but his best bet may be Scandinavia again.

“You’re never going to get every signing right. Every manager, even the greats, has made a mistake or two along the way.

“Mo needs to get out and play because it’s going to be restrictive here.

“Can we pay him up? I’d need to speak to Peter Lawwell about that but we’re not really in the habit of doing that.”

Lennon also said a deal we were looking at has fell through, foreign striker but wouldnt name names.

He also said Griffiths is "Highly thought of, put it that way" when asked about him.

Not in Tesco he aint. Apparently Swansea are in for him now. To be honest I would doubt he will come back to Scotland anyway.

Would it not make sense to bring the boy Watt back if you are want a stroppy recalcitrant in your team? It would cost less and he would score as many goals.

I heard he is pretty much in Scotland most of the time as hasnt settled down in Wolverhampton.

Agree about Watt, sadly we rarely see a player back at the club once they have gone on loan!

We could even recall McGregor from Notts Co who has hit nearly as many as Griffiths this season whilst playing for a worse team
