Sell Nasri, Buy Mata. Jagielka for CB should do it. Apart from that we have Vermaelen and Djourou plus Koscielny. We also have Squillaci, who can have the League Cup games. And a new left-back would be nice as well, a Bacary Sagna with a left foot would be phenomenal Apart from that I don't see where we can improve a lot unless selling some deadwood like Diaby, Bendtner, Vela or the above mentioned Squillaci. PS: Joey Barton is allowed to leave Newcastle on a free *cough*

Joey Barton's agent has been quoted on 5 Live as saying if Barton had been an Arsenal player we would have won the league last season
Yeah i saw that quote from Joey Barton - hilarious stuff. I can't see that any of the top clubs are gonna actualy go in for him. I definately don't want him at Arsenal.
Barton would actually be a pretty useful signing. He's better than Flamini and look how he turned out for us. He might not be a regular starter but he would be decent cover for Song and a useful player to bring on when we need to protect a lead. He's versatile and can play pretty much any midfield position. Also away games to the likes of Stoke - he could be very useful. Still I wont deny the guy is a complete liability.
I dislike the guy immensely and would struggle to support him i think. He has some ability and his physical presence could be of use to us, but with Frimpong looking set to challenge for a spot we already have cover for Song. I'd much rather see us get a player like Vertoghen to cover for the DM as he would also be able to cover for the LB and CB positions as well.
Plus Joey Barton is a loud mouth and i think i'd get mucho annoyed with him mouthing off about the club if he joined (he called NUFC penny pinchers - what would he think of the Arsenal board? lol).
