I went on the Bristol forum and someone put up his stats and they were not very good. Also many posters were not too bothered about him leaving. If you compare that to Goss, it's a different story. I only saw positive posts from Manure fans wishing him well and sorry he was leaving.
If Smith is the ex-Leeds player then we should all give up now. He is like Polter without the skill. Just goes to show how far we have gone down the drain! Loaning players to Oxford and going after a Striker that can't even get on the Fulham subs bench? Cheers TF and Co you really know how to @@@@ up a club.
Brentford selling player for 12 mill, QPR buying players for less than a mill and supporters excited.!!
With respect Durbar, we've tried the multi million pound purchases and look where it got us ? I'd take a Sean Derry or Ryan Nelson over a SWP or Bosingwa every day of the week.
Totally agree. Smith is slow, slow slow and a very below average player. To replace polter with him is like swapping fillet steak for road kill !!!
Without in any wishing to be negative, I declines to get excited, depressed or disinterested until we see Ollie's team accumulating points on the board and rising up the table. That, and entertaining football, is all that counts. Looks like we are in for another theatrical 22:55 dash but it means nothing unless it translates to better footie. Apologies if should have been on the rant thread!
Agree with a lot of that Staines. We have bought a few wasters but most were in the Prem days. Since then we have sold our best players and replaced with a lower class of player Charlie v Washington. That has been the reason for our demise and having the wrong managers.
I'm interested to see how Holloway structures the team going forward. Will he stick with his favoured 4-3-3? A lot of emphasis has been placed on getting a young team in to meet his demands for relentless pressing. His signing of Sean Goss, and pursuits of Luke Freeman and Danny Ward highlight that. I see we're monitoring Ravel Morrison but would we rather nurture Eberechi Eze who showed some promise and can give us something in the '10 role' if required? We have the target man in Sylla, we've got the pacey one in Washington, what we need is the Helguson.
the people who have tredicted all the so far incommings are predicting this,i have no idea why we would bring in a player who is so like poulter, including a very low goal return about the same as polter, lets all pray it dosnt happen, probabley scouted by the same idiot that brought in yeni he must really hate qpr thats all i can say
Really? I thought that at the Fulham game away but not on Saturday when Sylla was energetic but ineffectual. To be fair, there is a question of the quality of the service he was given. On multiple occasions he had his hands raised asking for the ball and at other times pointing to where he wanted it it placed and neither happened.
NEWS: #QPR are told by #FulhamFC that striker Matt Smith will cost them £1million if they want to buy him: That says it all. Nothing like trying to keep a player?
Matt Smith & £1million don't belong in the same sentence - unless you're a Rupert trying to pull someone's pants down!!
QPR and Fulham have agreed a fee for Matt Smith http://www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/qpr-fulham-agree-smith-fee-jan30
He is ours ...lets just go with it... He seemed to be quite prolific at Bristol City. He probably just needs someone to love him...so lets give him a chance
Well if it happens he'll get my support regardless. As far as I'm concerned if he signs what happened before is history it's what he does in the Hoops that counts.
He has made 53 appearances for the Whites, 33 of them as a substitute, and has scored nine goals. Smith scored 11 goals in 20 appearances during a loan spell at Bristol City the season before last. 9 goals in 20 starts for the Ruperts, 11 in 20 for Brizzle. 40 starts/ 20 goals doesn't sound that bad
