TC, Godden and Leaburn have all improved recently so maybe Hylton will prove the cynics (like me) wrong. Why not just coach then?

They have kept his player registration because they might well need him to play.

Has Hylton improved the games of our other three strikers, Ahadme, Aneke & Kanu <whistle>

Ahadme- "Foot problem"-<laugh>
Aneke- Doesn't even get beyond walking pace when warming up.
Kanu- I haven't completely given up on him but his lack of progress is a major disappointment.

I don't think Aneke offers anything any more, and for him to be ahead of Ahadme in the pecking order is damning IF there is no foot injury. What do we know?

Aneke will finally be gone in May. The worst value player in the club’s recent history.

I think the club will quietly try to cut their losses on Ahadme too, and Kanu will be allowed to leave to further his career at a lower level.

We need better.

Our recruitment has been desperately poor since Roland bought the Club.
Since 2014 you can count the number of really decent permanent signings on the fingers of a Japanese gangster's hand.
And I'm not talking about hard working plodders like Jason Pearce.
Player turnover too has been horrific.
Has anyone in the current squad made 100 appearances for Charlton?
Or appeared for us during three consecutive seasons?

Aneke had a few moments the first time around, but re-signing him was insanity.

I respectfully beg to differ.

He was very fortunate not to be sent off at Birmingham last week, where a rush of blood saw him commit a clear professional foul outside of the box, which the ref somehow missed. He should also have done a lot better on their goal.

I just don’t see AMB as a promotion standard keeper yet.

As for our fans singing his name - they sang Tony Watts name, and quite a few other duds as well.
Tbf Watt was a good footballer but unfortunately had attitude problems.

We’re supposed to be in for Akin Famewo from Sheffield Wednesday. Was with us previously on loan of course

Sorry, but I don't recall him being anything special, and that was playing for us in League One.
Am I doing him an injustice?

Wiki says we had an option to sign him permanently in 2021-22 but did not take it.

He was good for a while but became a liability, maybe playing alongside whatsisname,Ryan someone, that huge CB who kept getting red cards didn't help.

Agree, I don’t remember him being anything special. He was quite young then though so maybe he’s better now?
