Danny Hylton -

Didn't know much about him, in fact, I’d never heard of him …so I had a look.

30 appearances for the mighty Northampton Town in the last two seasons - 0 goals.

He is 36 years old in the near future.

Being polite, he’s had the sort of career for which the word “journeyman” could have been invented.

Talking of invented …I see it’s been suggested on the Pro Boards Pro SMT Forum that Hylton could be joining us as a coach. <laugh> Why would that be ?

We have already got more coaches than National Express.

I don’t see how signing Hylton would be compatible with any strategy, other than a cutting costs with a small budget one.

Here we are again, hoping we don't sign the latest hopeless old man or serial crock whose name pops up on some forum somewhere.

But we have got seven signings in early. Mannion, Mitchell, Edwards, Ahadme, Godden, Berry, Docherty

That’s seven decent signings. What we need now are three or four more signings that are better than what we have.

I take your point, my money will still say he does not see his FOUR YEARS contract out and ends up at East Fife.

Personally, I’m slowly but inexorably losing interest in CAFC, season by season. It’s tedious & a waste of money supporting a club that’s content to bum a long in L1 mid table, cheered on by a bunch of low energy forum geeks on a certain forum who are more interested in speculating about players we have zero chance of signing.

Imagine having such a low energy personality that you are content with CAFC merely improving on last season’s dire league position.

Birmingham City have today bid £6m for Fulham striker Jay Stansfield, while we are giving a trial to a clapped out 35 year old freebie from Northampton Town. Plus ca change.

Got mine too <ok>. No better place to be than The Valley on a Saturday afternoon. The players we have signed have been approved by NJ, not Martin Sandgaard, not Thomas Driesen, and Scott's input is much less.

that is a post that is worth coming out of forum retirement to congratulate you on. I’m am so disenchanted with cafc that I can be bothered to go to CAFC anymore. This is the only season I’ve not bought. ST in 30 years. I’m done with the apathy at CAFC and the entitled fans that sell this club out for a fish supper.

What a ridiculous post. Ian Wright played for Greenwich Borough, Jamie Vardy played for Fleetwood when they were non league. There are hundreds of examples of players playing for non league and lower league football who have made it. Playing for a small Club doesn’t define you. I have WATCHED the fella from Dunfermline looks a decent footballer.
The negativity on this forum from people who don’t go to games is overpowering.
It just drags me down.

Why don’t you just post on your own forum with you as the only member on it …although you’d still probably end up falling out with yourself within hours.

It is getting a bit ridiculous now.

If you get upset so easily by other people’s opinions - which you do - forums are not for you.

Your Twitter accounts are on and off like light switches as well.

We have been to games Dick over 1000 I think I’ve done over the years. Your positivity can be admired it also can be treated as manic optimism. I’m in the wtf has this board done that is an improvement on the last 3 boards camp. I mean what have they done to make me buy a season ticket?
Lowered prices ?
Improved the team ?
Improved the stadium?

They have done nothing that has impressed me so far?
