It looks like May has gone to Birmingham. Large hike on his wages. As Bob Dylan would say Money doesn’t talk it swears.
From a journalist who not often wrong.

Led to believe that Alfie May to Birmingham is done. A big blow to Huddersfield after they initially thought the striker was joining from Charlton. Guarantees goals in L1. [HASHTAG]#bcfc[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#cafc[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#htafc[/HASHTAG]

Cawley reporting that May set to sign a three year deal with Birmingham. Apparently nearly double his salary at Charlton. Good news for May terrible news for us. Where are these attackers who were joining before May leaves. More lies.

Alfie May joining Birmingham on perm deal from Charlton. Will now likely be subjected to stick by Addicks fans but my understanding is he intended to fulfil contract he signed last summer & was effectively shown door by Nathan Jones. Big gamble selling L1 top scorer

Things need to happen this week, by which I mean the drastic stepping up of recruiting new players.

This summer has been characterised by more hot air than you’d need to lift a Zeppelin …mainly on one forum …but very little in the way of actual squad strengthening.

The fanbase has constantly been gas lit ..whoops sorry ….assured …that there is a healthy transfer budget in place, one that is not reliant on selling star players first, so how about we start spending it.

As things stand, this is all looking very familiar & underwhelming.
F****** shambles.

Alfie is beyond criticism. Always gave 100%. Kept us out of L2, along with Dobbo.

Just to put things into context , there’s a Twitter poll with quite a large sample asking fans whether they agree or disagree with the sake of Alfie May

48% agree
52% disagree

Does that make the 52% “moaners”

My gut feeling about the Alfie May sale is one of weary disappointment.. Proper, long term fans have been here so many times with shi tty Charlton owners.

It’s no coincidence that the most vocal supporting the May sale also vocally supported “Richard”, Duchatelet, ESI & Sandgaard.

They can’t see the wood for the trees - zero intellectual or emotional bandwidth.

A lot of bandwidth with one individual.

We said we needed experience & match toughness, and by signing the Millwall defender, Berry & now Godden we have definitely strengthened in that department.

We need pace, width and midfield creativity now.

What you need more than anything is a goalscorer.
May and Blackett'Taylor scored 31 of your 64 league goals between them.
Godden isn't the answer - he's only scored 1 goal in his last 29 games (guess who that was aginst)
