Nothing new about Brighton's interest in Earnie. He was all set to go there last year when Poyet wanted him on loan as part of the proposed Noone deal before it fell through over Brighton's high valuation of Noone. Could be a permanent swap would make it more acceptable to City. Agree though that Earnie's departure wouldn't fall into the "big news" category these days.

this hours latest rumour... Turner to QPR for £2.5m. The reason he didnt play Sat?...who knows? remote, we're definately looking top heavy (not a complaint I've used often). Another defender coming in by Friday would be nice, not one going out.

The Turner to QPR thing might have a bit to it with all the comings the other way recently. It would be a shame though.
Turner to go? - It would leave us very light at the back where we are not that well covered already. However, they haven't signed Dawson or Cavalho so you never know. However, I thought they would be looking for experience not a Prem rookie. Bellers to retire - can't see that. He is in the Wales squad for next week. Unless he has an injury we don't know about and will make public later this week...... My money is still on Whitts if it is to be a REALLY BIG announcement but Friday leaves it very late to find a replacement unless there is one lined up as one of the other announcements.
I'm always glad when the window closes, and I agree with the managers who advocate the closing of the window before the season starts. Kicking off the season as a settled unit has to be good for all concerned.
