On the Eurosport transfer watch thing: a rumour reported by Calciomercato (and it is a rumour, no evidence) states that Liverpool are hijacking Southampton's deal to sign Gaston Ramirez. I find this unlikely as the Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said he wasn't interested in the player earlier this summer - probably an agent trying a last-minute punt before agreeing terms with Saints. It wont happen but imagine how the Saints fans would feel if he did sign with us
Muller would be a hard one to call. He was simply amazing in the 2010 world cup and looked like someone who could take Germany to the top of the world in 2-4 years time but he's been off the boil for a little while and lost his place to Toni Kroos so he may well be available... Similar to Walcott in that he can single handedly embarass any opposition by flaying them one game and then disappear for the following month. When they're good though, well they're a massive improvement on Downing.
On a serious note: We must sell Carroll if true. If we can sell a 3rd choice striker and buy a potential 1st choice with the money then it needs to be done.
Kopwatch ‏@KOPWATCH Reports: #LFC are said to be considering an offer of €5m to take Ramirez on loan and then a further €10-15m to buy him outright in 2013
Rodgers seems to want Downing out, a loan move could be on the cards because we don't have the money at the moment as non of the **** players are budging.
By the way, can this thread be merged to the transfer thread. It's annoying having to switch between the two for transfer talk.
I'd said I'd rather chew my left testicle off than sign Walcott. If we sign Muller then it will be the right one. Yet another hit, miss, miss and miss player
On the basis of this report the calculations do make sense and are affordable. The 5 million Euro could be met from this years budget with the further 10-15 coming from this season's profits. IF we get rid of Adam, Cole and Spearring then the wage reduction would take care of the 5 million fee! (almost)
Okay so far we have people possibly eating melons/lemons out of their arse holes and people chewing their left testicles off, we still have 36 hours to go.
Muller could be our alternative to Walcott. I think he has potential. I think he would improve us. But isnt he a first 11 regular for Bayern Munich? Out: Adam Spearing Not sure about Cole or Carroll. In: I really am not sure, but I am expecting a versatile wide forward option, and maybe a striker. But that could be achieved in just one player. Muller and Walcott both fit this mold.
