I think £1.5 million for Furlong the right back is good business but I'm less relaxed to accept £1.5 million for Furlong the centre back. He has never quite convinced me that he is going to be top Championship quality at RB but I've liked what I've seen with him at CB, although never quite seen enough of him there to be sure.

He’d want to stay if the club acknowledged he was our best all-round centre-half and merited that accordingly.

In the club’s defence, he seems to have this bizarre insistence that he’s a full-back.

This is it, I'd like to have seen us develop him as CB, where he showed a lot of potential.

Seem to be getting in a lot of loans, can only have so many in a match day squad

Obviously one of the keepers is going out on loan.Kelly has not impressed, Lumley looks better to me, Dieng has not featured.
This new goalie is on a free and is cheap on wages. ...this is the "moneyball Game"

Back to Furlong someone has said on LfW that "Furlong could be a Premier CD, but is actually only a League1 RB".

That is about right in my opinion, he gets caught out too easily by the counterattack, he cannot defend well running back (which is why he should be a CD) but apparently he does not like playing CD and would therefore not fit into Warburtons plan. I suspect he needs a new start, because he has not really pushed on as he should have by now.

Rollercoaster Ranger has written an article saying how this will be the season when FFP hits hardest, due to a really big loss three seasons ago. Once that loss is off our books (at the end of this season...FFP runs in 3 year cycles) we will be a lot healthier. We are trying hard to balance the books

Thanks for the insights Beth.

LI am still pondering in why we are selling Furlong on the cheap whilst he is young and under contract.Plus why we are collecting goalies when we need strikers.

I am sure that one day I will l understand!

As for FFP, I believe that it is a “rolling” 3 year period.
