I'm not sure I even understand what this means? I can only assume you are referring to R Bennett, Andreu and Lafferty? Possibly E Bennett, but that can't be right. Who are the other five/six? It seems to me that we would never get rid of R Bennett (given our CB options...) and it's pretty obvious the club has been trying its hardest to offload Lafferty and Andreu, but you can't force these moves.

I'm pretty happy with our back-up options - our bench and full squad looks stronger than it has ever been in the last five years. I accept that the first team has not been strengthened as much as I'd hoped, but that's because to improve on virtually every position we needed to shell out £7m plus and we simply don't have the money for lots of that, nor does it seem players in that bracket really want to come to us too much.

Rather than worrying about the squad, we clearly can compete in this league, we are a better team than c. 5 others in the PL and therefore have every chance of staying up with the squad we've got. Of course, I'd love it if we signed a couple of classy players, I just don't see it happening and I don't think it will necessarily help us stay up all that much more (look at Mings getting injured for Bournemouth - same could happen for us...)
Apologies - I meant to say ' regular games '

This is exactly what I think as well, and if it's got to the stage that he wants to leave then there has to be something wrong in the dressing room at the moment - the absolute last thing we need!

Yep - I think dressing room troubles would do far more damage to our chances of survival than anything else. New players only give marginal advantages against other teams' squads.

Really hope this whol Grabban thing doesn't suggest we've got all sorts of problems. Our club gets dragged through the mud enough. All the other quotes (Bassong, Brady, etc) have seemed so positive about the atmosphere.

Ah OK no worries - that makes sense <ok>, but I still don't see who the full nine are? I only see four and at least three of them look like we've considered offloading (i.e. not Bennett). And I'm happy with the Bennetts as squad options - we need guys like that prepared to sit on the bench

All that being said - Yedlin to Sunderland on loan. Shame.

It would be really helpful if a club or two went and did a full on implosion like Wolves and Blackburn in our first season. I was hoping Sunderland and Villa, but no clear sign yet.

Who are you thinking about? That's a risk for all clubs. I can't think of a player who doesn't currently have a quality replacement in our squad (as compared to last time we were in the Prem). The time we are in trouble is if there are two injuries in the same position (you remember when we were relegated we had tons of central midfield injuries, completely messed us up) but I don't see how you can legislate for multiple injuries to the same position.
I meant this as an answer to the argument - 'it can go wrong if you buy people' - e.g. Mings. I was suggesting that injuries happen anyway and if you don't think you have strengthened you are worse off.

Rumours of Johnson to Derby, with Lansbury his replacement in a swap deal sending Hooper to Forest.

Unless the bigger picture involves both Gayle and Naismith joining, the best I could possibly describe that deadline day business as is "utterly stupid".

Oh sorry, yes I see I misunderstood. Absolutely - any member of a squad can get injured. I do think there tends to be more of a psychological blow if a big money new signing gets injured though, particularly as if they are clearly a class above the existing squad members. I don't see any of our current squad being completely standout though (but we will soon find out if any of them are quietly essential), whereas if we splashed out big then they got injured it would feel different <ok>

I think if we have a fee agreed by 6pm, we have a further 2hrs to finalise a contract.

So why we've "agreed a 4 year deal with Gayle" before the fee is settled, I've no idea.

Berahino tweeted saying he won't play for West Brom again, good to know we're not the only one with a player sulking.

That's just what I saw on SSN. I don't understand either. Nothing has made sense in our business today so far...I never expect much from us on a deadline today, but this is the first I have felt it's essential to bring in 2 First Team players...and it's just not happened! I can't believe we are at this stage, and no CB rumors have been bubbling away. The strikers we seem to be pushing for are players we have known about for weeks! Why are we now panicking!? Bid the money, get them in and settled with the teammates. It's just mad.

My worry would be if Brady picked up a serious injury after BJ has gone to Derby. I'm not at all convinced about Howson playing on the left and that stood out at Southampton. We look like going back to a situation where players are playing out of position to cover injuries. That's a recipe for disaster. Replacing BJ or Hooper with either Gayle or Naismith would leave me even more worried.

Just looking up some of the Watford Imports on FM15, coz I've never heard of them. That Ibarbo Doesn't look much as a finisher or striker, but 6'2 and 20/20 for pace, and pretty strong. Interesting. Oulare looks pretty average too, but pacey and flair.

Other News. Walters will stay at Stoke.
