Get £20m for Redmond, replace him for £6m plus Bennett , sell RvW and Turner for, say, £6m - don't ask me who to - add in the, say, £5m in the transfer kitty and we are then in the game for a good striker. Sound attractive?
Sounds like you are living in a dream ;) :p

For once I'm not disappointed that we've had a bid turned down, my only fear is we'll go back with a higher offer. I honestly don't think Walters is any better than what we have, has it really come to this ? Are we really that desperate to recruit ?

I actually don't think Walters would be a bad signing. Bags of determination, a few goals here and there. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Yes, but is he better than what we have ? Ok, probably netter than Grabban but AN seems to like him so he's probably going nowhere.

I agree, he may not be the big, fancy sounding name so many seem to be craving for, but I personally think he could be a very clever, astute addition myself. Bags of experience, good player as well so if we can pick him up for a couple of million I think it would be excellent business <ok>

Fully agree as long as we can get RvW and Hooper - plus their combined earnings of £72k a week - off the books at the same time.

I think he's better than all apart from Jerome. Hooper would probably be a better finisher, but AN doesn't play him. So I think he'd be second best striker at the club. With tones of premiership experience and a decent amount of goals.

I think you've also summed up Alex Neil's transfer policy in two sentences there. <applause>

Reading some of the OTT replies to my posts simply reminded me why I lost interest in posting on here in the first place. I don't care if you don't like what I post but I won't pussy-foot around certain posters who either dislike my tone or don't possess the ability to form a coherent argument as to why I could be wrong.

Do you honestly believe I don't dream too? Of course I dream about a Shaqiri joining Norwich. But I also know enough about the club to understand that we aren't in a position to compete for players like that. Reality is all that matters in football transfers - you don't get points for crazy rumours.

Two summers ago when we were linked to Quagliarela I was stunned! This was a gifted player - he'd have been the best player we'd had in my lifetime. The saga rattled on for weeks, months even. And then it was over. Nada. He wasn't coming. I was gutted. My hopes had been dashed.

I later found out we hadn't even made a bid for him. We'd made a tentative enquiry which had very abruptly been quashed by player/agent. He was never coming here. I felt disappointed and a little stupid for believing the press.

So sure, dream away. But don't get all arsey when I say the club will be more realistic. We are paupers in this league. We've done ok for ourselves. All I argued against was the assertion the window had been 'rubbish', not because of who we'd actually signed but because fans wanted juicier gossip to discuss over a pint in a pub. Isn't that a bit pathetic?

Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised by the 'rubbish' I had thrown at me in the aftermath. It's just another typical football forum where people take things too seriously. I was definitely right - some people do need to get out more.

Supers quit the melodramatics and get on with the football mate, you're starting to sound like Paul Lambert ;)

One question for you, realistically how strong is our scouting network on the continent? Is it as week as it was under Lambert? We seem to sniff around players but I don't buy into it entirely, especially considering Lee Darnborough was buying plenty of 'exotic' players for Burnley.

Alen Halilovic has joined Sporting Gijon on loan. Never heard of that club. Was linked with the likes of West Ham and Everton. I would have loved a loan of him!

Seen a rumour on the BBC gossip website that the Mirror is saying we've had a £14M bid for Charlie Austin turned down - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/norwich-end-interest-charlie-austin-6296896.
I'm not sure he's the answer to our striker problem, as quite a few of his goals last season were penalties!!!!!
Surely this is rubbish!? I would absolutely love to get Charlie, he would be perfect! But be willing to spend £14m on one player!? Can't see us doing that unless we were a Premiership team for a good few years. Even if we had sold Turner, Winkle and Lafferty to free up wages and get some Transfer money. To then get him ahead of Spurs etc? Got to be a none story? Doesn't sound like us at all.

I don't really think he's the type of player AN would sign either.

I would normally agree BUT we know that AN is looking for a striker and it would seem that not just any old striker will do, it has to have had PL experience - and rightly so in my opinion. I don't think this is totally out of the question at all - it could near as damn it 'guarantee' PL survival.
