I am more than happy to give RVW a chance in a more attack minded team - if AN feels hes up to it. I don't see the point in taking a loss on him to buy another European striker who is just as big a risk.
Completely agree with that, Mark. I think that there's a good chance RvW will thrive under Neil and the midfield we now possess. Odjidja-Ofoe, Dorrans, and Mulumbu will all be new to him, so let's see what happens.

The rule should, and I imagine will be, that the start of pre-season everyone is given the same chance. It will be the first time Alex and RvW will work together, worth letting them work things out like that than based on video and previous form.
Really not sure how I feel about this. On what we currently know we definitely need to strengthen in the striker department. AN seems to be able to get the most out of players, Bassong is an example. However with Bassong I don''t think there was much doubting his ability, although there were and are question marks around mentality. With RvW he has not yet proved that he has the ability and all the available information suggests to me he doesn't have the right mentality either. It's all very well AN looking at him pre-season, but what if he looks at him and doesn't like what he sees ? We certainly wouldn't be in the best position to purchase a new striker. So for me happy for RvW to be given a chance, provided we still look to buy at least 1 ideally 2 strikers that are as good as or better than Jerome, who I think is our best striker at the moment.

People might have noticed that Anderlecht have supposedly blocked our move for Mbokani based on the unpaid amount they are owed which I mentioned - apparently it is "a few hundred thousand dollars"
Not overboard at all, Rob. It's interesting to compare Brady, who Hull ridiculously priced at £15m, when his Transfermarkt value is £1.76m, to Mbokani who Kiev are said to want £5.5m for, when his Transfermarkt value is £7.48m. Even at 3 times Brady's value, £5.25m, it would be just under Mbokani's asking price. Can't see us paying much more than that for Brady, if it does come about, but Mbokani would seem to be better value for money.
The only thing to say is (unhelpfully), because it's a free service transfermarkt is usually out of date for the valuations by several months. I should think Brady has gone up in value for his second half of the season since the £1.76m listed for February. I should think he'll be close to what he was (£2.6m) which means that given the stiff competition for him, he may command £10-12m which may well be 4 or 5 times his asset value.
£15m is ludicrous and just designed to placate the fans I suspect. I expect someone to buy him and it will be interesting to see how much they actually pay.

I think we'd be very foolish to pay £10-12m (about half of the transfer budget) for Brady, which may be why we're looking at Clucas as well. To spend that much on one player would be ludicrous. If Brady is going to cost more than £5m I think we should move on.
Hull forum and papers say they're holding out for £10m, not £15m. That sounds more likely as the top end of negotiations for him. Our bid of £2m sounds suspiciously low, but I imagine we'll end up paying £7-8m for him if we get him. He's a valuable promising young English player.
