Not claiming to be ITK but there was a lot of talk about him having weight issues and refusing to train!
Amongst other rumours flying about as well. At 31 he probably thought it was time to head home rather than stay here and drop down a couple of leagues. Think of the Leeds fans though - they lost one of their favourite players and got Morison in exchange!!!

Hard to feel sorry for someone who trousered hundreds of thousands of pounds to do **** all and can retire in beautiful Argentina at 31 years old.
Perspective needed.

I also think that he made a decision to take the money rather than move on to get more playing time. On another front, Kyle Lafferty had this to say in the Pink'un:

“Obviously I’m still a Norwich player and I’m going to go back, work hard to get into the manager’s plans and see what happens and see how he wants to fit me in. He’s spoken to me a few times and through my agent. Obviously he had the play-off finals, but he’s asked my agent about me and said to my agent that he wants me back so that’s encouraging. It’s good that he’s keeping me in mind.”

Be interesting to see what happens, but at least he seems keen and willing to 'fit in' to the squad.

I have never had a problem with Lafferty. We seem to have tried to me.take him a winger rather than a striker, which from his international performances was the wrong decision.

Most of his starts resulted in a yellow card and Adams deciding to take him off so as not to go down to 10 men.
He tries very hard but is very wreckless.

And I reckon much of his 'recklessness' was due to being deployed out of his natural position. Trying too hard to impress, in a role that was largely alien to him, which was also a sign of him busting a gut for the team.
Unfortunately, he had a habit of 'busting the odd gut' of opposing players, while striving to contribute to the team effort whilst out of position - hence the bookings <yikes>

Grabban did a good job in that position creating many goals when called upon so he was selected.
Lafferty was given a shot in the cups as a striker and was terrible.

Hard to really know what's going on behind the scenes, was only one report about mulumbu, in the sun. All the others just referenced it.
These things take time and there is currently no rush.

Well this one's out of left field (pun intended....):

So he can play on both wings and up front, but is predominantly a left-sided midfielder (being left-footed). Scored 9 goals and got 3 assists in 41 matches last term, which is pretty good from the wing, albeit in League 1.

His positioning is crazy though - after starting wide left he mixed it up with AM and both wings, but played much of the middle of the season at left back, then finished the season with 11 games at CF scoring four goals (two braces) as Chesterfield motored the last few games

Just saw - and was about to post that link, Rob. If the club have genuine ambitions about staying in the top flight, they need to be setting their sights considerably higher than £1.5m rated Chesterfield (ex Mansfield) players!
He's not even a prolific goal scorer at that level <yikes>

I'm not so sure Cromer - check out my edited post I think there's a bit more to him than first meets the eye

Let's not forget that Pilks did very well for us from a similar position...

I had a quick check on the Chesterfield forums - they seem to have heard about this rumour earlier this morning before that article was posted and I don't know how they knew it.

Here's a quote about him:
"He is a very tidy player, who is attack minded but also knows his defensive duties. "

I wonder if this means we are losing the race for Brady now that Villa have showed interest. Seems a similar player who can offer cover for an even greater range of positions. Not exciting, maybe, but certainly interesting.
