You're right - he's not a bad player (though oddly despite a good record for Rennes as you point out his stock seems to have fallen) I was more meaning the prima donna part. I definitely agree that relegation seems to me like it will prove to be the step back we needed to take us two steps forward. It was a close run thing though!
The title is hopeful, but there is nothing new in the article, really. Looks a bit like the source might be this Board!
His definitely a second striker his technical ability and football intelligence is absolutely superb, I don't think people give him enough credit for it, in one of the games against Ipswich he came on for Jerome but ended up filling in for Wes and was brilliant, linked up everything perfectly, he may not have Wes's trickery but his thinking three passes ahead of everyone else.
Unfortunately these rumours seem to originate from our unknown friend on twitter, if we don't believe him when he say things we don't like we can them believe him when he says something we do. Plus he's so frequently wrong its laughable. That said I'm a big fan of Hooper, as others have said he's a much better around footballer than he get credit for, he's not just a poacher. What he can't do is get the ball out of the air and hold it up for the midfield like Jerome does, however when played into his feet he's a hard man to move off the ball.
Hooper would be amongst the first half dozen players in my squad for the PL campaign. I fail to see how he "doesn't fit the way AN plays". He's not one-dimensional. The whole point of a squad is to have tactical options, not just cover for injuries. Hooper has scored some immense individual and team goals and is about as efficient in front of goal as any striker could hope. A striker who can convert the fewer chances that we'll get in the PL is just what we need.
The strike force is a concern in some respects because when you see the quality of other PL outfits, ours do appear a little light overall. We seem a little betwixed and between, very good for the Championship but not quite there for the PL. I guess that RvW was that missing link in the last campaign and we know what happened there! Hooper could play a vital role in us staying up I reckon.
If it comes down, and this is a big if, to us having to let Hooper go to Celtic in part exchange for van Djik, then as far as I am concerned I will say goodbye and best wishes. A player of Hoppers standard is more easily replaced than a player of vD' s standard aquired.
A new one - Dieumerci Mbokani Seems unlikely http://www.shoot.co.uk/category/news/norwich-close-on-5-5m-signing-of-former-monaco-striker/ Snowy beat me by a second!
Complete and utter tosh that one IMO, no way we'd spend £ 5.5M on a player who will be 30 next birthday and TBH I wouldn't want us to.
Another new name to conjure with - Milos Veljkovic http://www.comeonyouswans.com/news/...h-eyeing-up-young-tottenham-defender_2015_06?
Completely agree, and wonder if this is nothing more than lazy journalism based on the fact we've just signed Mulumbu, who is a Congolese team mate of this fella (who I've never heard of).
I have heard of Mbokani, didnt he used to play for Aderlecht? I think he might have been a decent signing 2-3 years ago but not at that age/price.
