Rhodes is an apt comparison. Unproven in the Prem, and £11m will buy a lot more striker elsewhere.

Speaking of Jordan Rhodes, still no sign of Superman. Does anyone know why he has stopped posting ? <confused>

I recall he did mention on the board that he was very sorry but he wouldn't be posting regularly as he had some personal matters to deal with - or it could have been work-related. I think he also might just have had a newborn.

Basically... I don't know! But I'm pretty sure he made it clear he wouldn't be able to post as often so there was no reason to worry too much <ok>

This, may have already been mentioned but I've just had a look at the rule on over 21 players and it seems that Redmond, Loza and Remi Matthews are all still classed as under 21 for the PL 25 man squad rule as they turned 21 after the 1st of January this year.

"An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences"

Redmond was 21 in March, and Loza was 21 in May and so they do not count. Neither does Remi Matthews who was 21 in February. That means we actually have just 24 senior players now and Matthews could be the 3rd keeper without taking up a space. Carlton Morris is currently 19.

Great spot Rick, certainly makes it easier to change things around then if we aren't over numbers already, and Redmond underage is a bonus, effectively gives us 26 senior players.

I picked this out from a comment made on the EDP site about RVW (not from the article which is dull as dishwater) but from a contributor

"RVW hasn't set France on fire but 5 goals and 3 assists from 18 starts isn't a disaster and some of his goals were belters. Also playing in France was Dimitar Berbatov who had 7 goals and 0 assists from 18 starts. One time city target Ola Toivonen got 7 goals and 1 assist from 28 starts, David Ngog - 7 goals and 1 assist from 22 starts and the Brazilian Lucas got 7 goals and 5 assists from 22 starts for PSG."

Perhaps the French League is a tough one to score in

It's posts like these that make me lurch back towards hoping that RvW might come good despite my inclinations. Berbatov may be over the hill, but he remains IMO one of the most naturally talented footballers and his touch is sublime

I get the sentiment Carrabuh but aren't Lucas and Torvil & Dean midfielders? Gradel has scored 17 albeit from more starts and the highest scorer in the league is on 27.

I really don't understand this if it's true. How on Earth would he be a good signing (bearing in mind we'd almost certainly pay top whack, and he's not exactly a spring chicken)?

Total rubbish I reckon, he once said when at Leeds that he'd never join Norwich didn't he ?
Mind you, so did Marc Tierney :cheesy:

Where's the evidence to back up this 'claim' ? Obviously a slow news day at the Daily Fail <doh>
