When I was a kid I rolled down a hill with no t shirt on and rolled right into the middle of a huge stinging nettle patch. When I got home my mums **** of a husband slapped me around and my mother shouted at me for making her life difficult and as well as my back, belly, legs, neck and face being itchy some nettles found their way into my shorts so I nearly scratched my nuts off.
I would rather have that as my ground hog day than have to have to watch RVP in a spurs shirt

Shayon Harrison might have something to say about that. As for RVP, no way, absolute mercenary and my mate (huge Fener fan) says he's been average at best since joining them.

If you think about it most transfers should be failures and the better the player the more likely the fail: To get a transfer to happen you usually have to do two things: persuade the selling club to release the player and persuade the player to join. The first means you have to pay more than the selling club thinks the player is worth (which is essentially a measure of his expected future performance), the second means you have to pay the player more than the selling club thinks he ought to be paid (which is an approximate measure of how much value he is adding now). The selling club sees the player everyday in training and knows much more about him than the buying club so must be in a better position to judge all aspects of this. If the player is young or apparently only a mediocre performer then the discrepancy in valuations would probably need to be lower to persuade a sale. If the player is very well known then the valuation will need to be very high both to persuade the parties to make the deal.

Roberto Mancini has been asked for his opinion on the rumours linking Icardi with a move, including us and the Goons.
His reply? "I don't read newspapers, I don't listen to the radio, I don't watch TV. Just some porn." <laugh>

Hence Spurs doing better on transfers than most recently by buying young and only paying for moderately priced targets. Another advantage for young players is that they are ready, willing and able to form themselves to your system better.

Bournemouth completing their £15m move for Jordan Ibe today only serves to emphasise just how pragmatic and sensible we've become in the market. He's a promising player don't get me wrong and I wish Bmouth nothing but success but £15m is a massive gamble for a club of their means. When you consider how many players we've signed for significantly less than that and how well they've gone on to perform, it is clear that whoever is calling the shots in the ivory tower is doing a largely fantastic job of it.

Bunch of cheapskates - they were only thinking of offering £8-10m for Ryan Mason!

Rafael van der Vaart has offered his opinion on our new signing and fellow Dutchman Vincent Janssen.
"In my opinion Tottenham have signed a great striker.”
“He’s still young but he’s a real striker. He loves to play and work for the team but he doesn’t just score goals, he makes goals as well.
“If you work hard at Tottenham and in the Premier League, people will love you and if you score goals, you will be a legend. I hope he will do both.
“I think it’s a great signing for Tottenham and a great move for Vincent.”

It's part of an interview with our official site, the rest of which goes up on Monday, apparently.
Shame he wasn't at the club for very long, but he made quite an impact while he was with us.
Seems to still hold a lot of affection for the club too and I think that the fans appreciate and return it.

VdV really got the Spurs ethos from day 1 (style of play, fronting up in NLDs etc) .
That he was exactly that type of player is exactly why he will be loved by the supporters,
even though he was only here for such a short time.

Since we apparently didn't learn anything from the Batshuayi farce, we're now looking at Marseilles winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou - with OM wanting £11.7m, which is twelve times what they paid for him last summer, and N'Jie on loan. However, if last summer taught us anything, if OM loan in their quota of loanees early, N'Jie will go on to have a stormer next season.

Meanwhile, for some reason PSV striker Jurgen Locadia has saying how nice it would be to follow Janssen to Spurs. Considering how the obvious comparison in our squad for both players is Chadli, I say go for Locadia - because there is no reason on earth we should ever deal with Marseilles ever again.

Lastly, as it hasn't been mentioned on here, we can rule out Sanabria...
