The rumour was clearly about him moving to England to play with some Spurs players, rather than at the club itself.
Judging by the reaction of Inter fans to this news, it's probably for the best that we haven't signed him.
I thought that Cheery Cheese got some **** when he left...

As I said on the subject last week...

The papers obviously didn't check the obvious issue with their logic, namely how Ranocchia is right-footed while Verts and his understudy Wimmer are left-footed to make it easier to swap players in and out of his system, and there's the obvious issue that Ranocchia has a lot in common with Fazio - in terms of his style of play, penchant for picking up cheap yellows, and habit of some high-profile derps that cost Inter games, hence Inter are willing to let him go for £5m when he's under contract for two more years.

    ..as well as...

One thing that does have to be said about Inter is they have a reputation of a club where youngsters go to die, as that exact description can be used to describe the careers of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Marcelo Brozovic, Juan Jesus and the aforementioned Andrea Ranocchia in their current squad, and then there's the bizarre case of Xherdan Shaqiri who signed for them in the January window and was at Stoke by the time the summer window had closed, plus there's always a large churn in terms of players as well as chopping and changing of managers - and it needs pointing out that they have had ten different full-time managers since 2010, so players are constantly in and out of favour rather than being central to the team.

So if Andrea Pinamonte is still interested in a move...

If you average more than a manager a season for seven years, then you're probably doing something wrong.
When those managers include Mourinho, Benitez, Ranieri, Mancini and De Boer, then you're probably skint, too.

Signing of the window if it goes through, no doubt about it.

Suggestions that Galatasaray are sniffing around Vincent Janssen for a loan. Could be on the back of our interest in Bruma? Nothing will come of it but it has a 0.01% chance, I guess?

...and right on cue, Rose to Man Utd headlines pop up, coupled with Roberto Carlos saying that we should offer him a big contract.

For the latter, it apparently needs pointing out that Rose signed a five-year contract back in September, and while the £60k a week he earns (according to Football Manager) might not be on a par with the equivalent players at Chelsea or the Manchester clubs, the obvious counter argument is that Man Utd aren't exactly getting value for the £110k they pay Luke Shaw every week.

As for the first part, I'll say what I said when the papers were happy to link Dele Alli with them a couple of weeks ago: why would we sell a key player to a team that has finished below us in two of the last three seasons?

In one report it said that "Rose made it clear that he wanted to win things with Spurs."

Curiously, that bit goes missing in a number of reports. It must have slipped their minds.

Apparently Galatasary enquiried about Janssen but we're told "it's a waste of time".

A waste of time enquiring, because we'll say no? Or a waste of time because he can't find the onion bag? <laugh>

This guy's info is usually pretty good, and this is what he has to say:

So unless there is literally a last minute out of nowhere deal, I think it's safe to say we're done.
