Bentaleb had good support from the fans, as far as I can remember.
Lots of calls for him to get back into the side and little criticism when he was a regular. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Some of out other ex-players have far more to complain about, including a number that he played alongside.

Read my post correctly please mate.

It's been spoken about on all forms of social media, not just this or another forum and the UK media outlets are also publishing the story, you only have to type his name into Twitter and the suggestions of "Bentaleb Support"/ "Bentaleb Comments" arise. Social media is incredibly powerful in this day and age, especially Twitter, it often boosts or lowers a person's popularity based on things they say/ do or allegedly say/ do. With thousands of people now speculating on the subject, it may be in his best interests to clarify his comments if he felt he was misinterpreted, no doubt he's getting a bunch of hateful comments from fans on his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, seeing as he's still contracted to our club, it would be smart of him to perhaps release a small statement saying what was said was taken out of context because IF Schalke don't take up the option to purchase him, he's going to be in a very ****ty scenario upon returning.

    1. Think Pochettino has earned the right to be a control freak.
And I am not sure with why being a control freak is an issue...Burkinshaw and Nicholson were both control freaks...it was their way and tough if you didn't like it.
The same could be said of a lot of very good managers.
I have no idea whether Poch will win things with us but surely there is a better chance of him being a success if he does what HE thinks is right.
    2. I am not sure why Bentaleb is complaining of fans booing the team ... since AVB and Sherwood that hasn't happened and, in my opinion, the booing back then was aimed at those two rather than the players.
    3. I get Bentaleb is frustrated but whose place in the team should he take?

Sky Sports are running the following:

"After last season, where I played towards the end quite frequently, I'm already down on other expectations for this season, hat (the injtury I had) has taken me back a bit. It is difficult at the moment but I am patiently waiting for my chance. I try to always stay positive.

The feedback from the club is always that they are very happy; that they see the future with me. This is very positive, but it is about the here and now."

Kleine Zeitung suggest Wimmer was asked whether he would consider his future in the next transfer window, and he said: "We will see what happens in the next few weeks; how much I start. We have a few midweek matches."

It's understandable that he wants first team football, especially to keep his international place. Hopefully, we can find him enough games to keep him happy but it's hard to see the circumstances where he leaves in January, no matter how much he might want to go.

It's not impossible that the arrival of Wanyama might facilitate his departure though, with Dier potentially being used more as a centre back again. I think CCV would need to prove himself first though, and if he doesnt do that then it should mean that Wimmer's getting time anyway. So one way or the other I can't see Wimmer becoming an unhappy wantaway.

Don't forget Poch supposedly insists on a leftie at LCB and a right footer at RCB. As far as I know, Toby, CCV, Big Vic and Eric are all right footed, which leaves Kev as sole backup for LCB, apart from Davies in an emergency. I can definitely see Wimmer getting more games this season and I too struggle to see him leaving.

Like Hudd, I also see Wimmer getting a lot of games this season as it progresses, admittedly it's been surprising to see him excluded from a number of match day squads but the form of Jan & Toby at the moment is again exceptional just like last season and so it's tough for another CB to get in game time in the league while they're playing this well. I would like to see Kev get in the squad more though, should Jan/ Toby get a knock during a match just last season at Palace, it's massively beneficial to have him there ready to come on rather than risk moving Dier or Wanyama out of position (granted it was Dier's initial role) for the remainder of the match.

Because we seem to be keen on stockpiling left backs, reports say that Corinthians' 19-year old left back Guilherme Arana was in London today and met with the club to discuss the possibility of a move - although Schalke are waiting in the wings (which says how well Baba Rahman's loan spell is going...)

If our fullbacks are going to get kicked to **** when they play for England we probably need a few more.

It appears that Spurs see themselves as a footballing Angelina Jolie, as the latest twist in the Ryan Sessegnon story is that we're considering signing him as well as his twin brother Steven in January - which almost makes it look as if we're compensating for failing to have a team of multiple Dembeles by having as left flank of Sessegnons.

We did somewhat compensate for the lack of Dembele's by going down the first name route of bringing in a Moussa to go with Mousa.

Plus we must be the only team in the country to basically have two near exact names that play in the same position thanks to Kyle Walker and Kyle Walker-Peters.

Bring on the Sessegnon's I say!

That will probably be £90 million by the time the winter window opens and £110 million when it ends. Levy will have to be quick.

€45m for a player in the last eighteen months of his contract? That's getting into Sterling territory...

I'd never heard of this kid before the story broke earlier this week. I watched some clips of him and he plays just like Danny Rose - fast, committed, crosses well, spiky and goes forward like a train. Additionally, he appears to be able to shoot from distance and finish in the area. Given that he's only played a season and a half and is just a kid, I can see why top clubs might be interested, especially us.

I like Ben Davies and think he's a good young player with lots of excellent qualities but he's not a replacement in the same vein for Rose and doesn't particularly strike me as a Pochettino-type full-back. The fact that other left backs are also being linked makes me wonder if it might be the time we extract the piss and £30m out of Chelsea? If we can get this Brazillian for £10m, then that's half an Isco with the profit. Flog Bentaleb to Schalke and the deal's all done. Isco is our and no harm done to squad balance. Easy!

Sessegnon is hardly a new story, as he's been linked with us since before the transfer window shut - although his brother being part of a potential deal is a new development.

The latest on Isco is that we'll loan him in January with the option to buy in the summer, which is frankly the best option - not least as it drastically weakens Los Ladrones' position, because there's no way they can charge €45m for a player with a year left on their contract...unless the Mousers show an interest, anyway.

It would be great to think that Isco would be drawn to us because Mauricio Pochettino is so keen to get him here. He really needs to be wanted and appreciated after 2 years on the outside of the RM set up. MP could really re-start the guy's career at the top level with Spurs and give us an additional top level option. He'll probably end up at Chelsea or AC Milan or some other club with money to waste and no heart. However, if you want to do something special with your career, son, Maurico Pochettino's your man and Spurs is where you want to be.

Peterborough manager Grant McCann's had this to say about Luke McGee

He's been first-class since he's come in. Not just his performances on the pitch but his whole demeanour around the building.

He's a young lad but he's come in with a 27, 28-year-old's shoulders on him. He demands of people in training, if you don't track a runner he's out of his goal shouting at you. It's exactly what you need from your goalkeeper. With his ability as well, you've got somebody special

We'd love him here until beyond, never mind the end of the season and to be one of our players...But Tottenham think highly of him - he's been on the bench for their first team in the Premier League
