Yeah that’s Alan Dixon talking with him there, our player liaison officer at the club. He’s also ex-military IIRC so he’s probably part hired to ensure no one tries hijacking him/ the deal
I don’t think anyone’s seen him for a while other than sitting on Madrid’s bench or playing golf lol. Injuries aside he still looks to be in a good athletic shape so I hope he’s still got his pace, or at least a good amount of it, can’t imagine the technical ability will have gone though.
The last two years he hasn’t been so much injured as ostracised, I think. He’s always been a tremendous athlete but I suspect he’s probably lost a yard over the years. Still probably quick though just not what he was. That left boot should still be as sharp as ever though. I can’t believe this is actually happening. It doesn’t feel real.
It’ll be good to see him back in the PL, in his pomp he was absolutely superb. He’s exactly the kind of signing you needed to give the squad a lift imo. As your other signings this window have been a bit meh imo, and I didn’t see them as actually improving your first XI merely adding depth. But Bale is different gravy, if you can keep him fit and Maureen can integrate him into the side in a way that plays to his strengths, then he’s potentially a real game changer for Spurs.
I've just been on Twitter, the Spurs tweets look like a kids party where the only food on offer was blue smarties, seaside rock and red bull followed by a snort of coke
