Walker-Peters has a lot of potential, but we basically wasted several years of his career and I think that the club feels obligated to him. If he wants to leave in order to play regularly, then that's what will happen. Should've been loaned out after the U20 World Cup win in 2017, rather than hanging about in our squad being overlooked. Quite funny that Alasdair Gold, who I referred to earlier, put this out 4 minutes after I said Levy would jack the fee up to match: No idea if it's accurate, but he's basically the club's journalistic spokesman.
He always beats him on the golf course! Seriously I just don't think he shows any commitment to the cause, appears to be happy to take the money and sit (recently lie) on the bench.
I find the Bale situation hilarious. Over last 18 months or so he's shown a clear disregard to Madrid/ Zidane. The Wales banner, the mock golfing in training, laughing on the bench (seemingly at Zidane) when Madrid were losing and also putting a mask over his face pretending to be asleep has been funny as ****. Madrid are usually the team who **** clubs/ players over so it's nice seeing them get a taste of their own medicine. I agree with what you've said too, he doesn't seem to care about playing regular any more, he's picking up an absolute packet where he and his family are settled and ultimately he's won everything he can in Spain & Europe, so is probably happy taking somewhat of a back seat.
Dan Kilpatrick is probably the second best Spurs source after Ally Gold and he too says similar with regards to the price difference.
I think it comes down to the fact that he was never a Galactico, in his personality. Certainly he was talent-wise. But all the noises coming out of those who knew him when he made the move were that he was quiet, introverted even. I think some even raised it as a concern at the time, that he wouldn’t be successful there. I get the sense he never bought into the circus, and in return was never fully embraced by the club or fans despite what he did for them on the pitch.
Yeah think you're right. I think that's partly why Eriksen never ended up at Madrid either (there was actually a rumour about that too IIRC), personality wise he was also very introverted albeit he did seem to be a lot funnier than initial perceptions, certainly had a dry sense of humour - mind you, could actually say that about Bale.
Funny that Saints-informed journos and wider press are saying differently. Looks to me as if both clubs are trying to make it look as though they have got the better deal. Probably somewhere in the middle!
We'll probably never know. Undisclosed fees and club journalists claiming victory. Can we interest you in one Tommy Forecast, by any chance?
Neither club has the better deal really, both clubs want both players so it's in everyone's interests to strike the deals as quickly as possible. We're getting a more experienced player but with only a year left on his contract, you guys are getting someone with a good amount of potential plus he's English so adds to the HG/ English Premium. I reckon the fees aren't far off one another whatever they are. I think Fulham's (more so than West Ham's) interest in KWP has probably helped speed up negotiations for both clubs too. KWP seems set on joining you lot but if Fulham made and had a bid accepted it would've thrown a spanner in the works as he knows Scotty Parker, grew up with Josh Onomah and being a London boy (born a stones throw from WHL), a London club may have swayed him. So with us wanting to use KWP as a sweetener for PEH and you boys wanting KWP anyway, it's possibly helped iron out any differences there may have been.
So for all the good things Poch did for us and we all agree what a great manager he was for us , he also held back some great potential youngsters coming through. He was regularly applauded for giving them a chance but it seems in reality things are a bit different
David Ornstein saying the fee for Hojbjerg is £15m plus £4m in add-ons, he's usually the go-to guy for Arsenal related news but is generally highly respected. Knowing Levy, those add-ons are probably based on if we win the champions league, if we win the premier league by 15 clear points and once Hojbjerg scores 50 league goals for the club... So it’s £15m . Sounds like he’ll sign a 5 year deal and most journos saying it’ll be done by/ on the weekend. Now the ever reliable, most on point accurate news outlet on planet earth - The Daily Star - are saying we’re turning our attention to Wilson now that Hojbjerg is all but done.
If it means I don’t see Winks in the XI much more he can stay for 10, lol. Anyway, we’re signing the Danish Busquets mate. Once we bring in the Korean Ramos (Kim Min-Jae) and the Turkish Cafu (Zeki Celik), it’s over for the rest of the league, Europe in fact.
So those in the know do you think this Hojberg signing is the kind of player we need and is he good enough in your opinion ?. My only comment is why can't we sign players with easier names to spell
Considering how a decent amount of Spurs fans spent years getting Gomes' name wrong and called him "Gomez", I wonder if some people will have trouble if we signed Demba Ba ...especially since I know a Chelsea fan who called him "Debebemba"
