Anyway, I'll leave it to the rest of you to decide what level of cringe Millwall's player announcement video ranks at...
The Third Annual Tanguy Ndombele Transfer Saga Watch The Mirror are reporting that Tanguy Ndombele is unhappy at Spurs and is looking to push through a move to Inter Alright, everyone, place your bets which player's name gets floated this time... Marcelo Brozovic Ivan Perisic Milan Skriniar Matias Vecino Diego Godin Christian Eriksen
I’d take Barella from Inter, maybe Brozovic, but that’s about it. Aside from that I’d rather have the cash if they took Tanguy.
Barella's certainly a player I'd take, as he plays the ball carrier role and is an on field leader - but as he's a loan-with-obligation and the obligation was only triggered in the last week, the only way that could possibly happen is a straight swap while any other variation would be cash + player, and the latter would give us a little bit more to use on refurbishing the squad
Bit of an odd move but I suppose he’s looking for guaranteed game time and a strong season or two in the Championship/ Prem if promoted could get him noticed.
I thought he was definitely going to join Liverpool, as soon as I heard about their interest in him. They've got no natural cover for Terence Trent D'arby, so it looked like an obvious one for both parties. Odd that he's gone to Watford.
Possibly just the one, because if Aurier and KWP leave (although Southampton are doing a lot to ruin any leverage on that one...) Foyth is certainly looking likely to stay
So a thought has struck me about a certain player who we've been perpetually linked with since last summer, who is apparently being offered to the Nomads for a fee of £9m + Guendouzi This is what my thought is: we should not be going for Philippe Coutinho If it was the Coutinho of 3-4 years ago who was available we absolutely should go for him, but the point is that the Coutinho of 3-4 years ago isn't available. What is available is the Coutinho who got his dream move to Barca yet was deemed surplus to requirements within eighteen months, who was eventually dumped onto Bayern and it has to be said he hardly lit up the Bundesliga - which, coincidentally, is why I am against any of the 18,000 mooted moves for Ivan Perisic we'll be bearing about by the end of this month as he was a shadow of the player he was 2-3 seasons before at Inter Could passing on him come back to bite us on the backside? Possibly...but then again, chucking cash at him and a significant chunk of his wages to find out he's been broken by his dream move not working out and now he's having to realise he peaked way before he thought he did could also bite us on the backside, something we have plenty of experience of courtesy of Christian Eriksen last season
Plus for Coutinho there’s some outrageous figures being bandied about even for a loan. I doubt we’d be in the market for that.
I think Coutinho would be dependent on Ndombele. If the Frenchman goes, he'd be someone I'd imagine the club would go far, if Ndombele stays, not so much.
The Daily Sneer report that we're looking to sign Troy Deeney from freshly-relegated Watford Why yes, it is the same Troy Deeney who is due to have knee surgery this month...
I'm trying to work out what the most idiotic take about the rumours of us signing Deeney are, as the responses to the story on SpursWeb's Twitter feed has so far given us * This weird belief that we're looking at Deeney as a starter and not a depth signing * It's embarrassing that we're looking to sign a solid pro with a decent scoring record as an understudy * We should sign Raul Jimenez as Kane's understudy to show amBiSHuN * Signing Deeney as backup will obviously lead to Harry Kane wanting to leave * There's no good players at Watford, Bournemouth or Norwich, because if there were they wouldn't have been relegated * Threatening to assault Levy if this transfer goes through I can't think of any possible reason why the THST have released a statement saying how fed up they're getting with our fanbase these days...
Of course they don't speak for every Spurs fan Mainly because they'd look really stupid harassing themselves on Twitter when we draw 0-0 with relegation-threatened Bournemouth...
