first bit isn’t our problem Second bit Levy doesn’t care about In which case I think it’s very possible
Were you actually following the club in 2008? if you were you'd know how Levy absolutely refused to engage with Man Utd's attempts to unsettle Berbatov, to the point that they literally had to kidnap him to sign him...
I know but I can imagine him asking for a world record fee and I don’t think he will count United out this time. Not many can afford Kane but United can.
Can they? If they could afford him, they could have afforded to pay for Ighalo in January - or, for that matter, they could have afforded the hit they'd have taken offloading Sanchez and Smalling on cut-price deals
Kane has the X factor that is worth the layout just like Bruno Fernandes was for them different class of player
They paid less upfront for Fernandes than we offered You should know this, as both PNP and myself explained to you
We been through this They offered the better deal excluding a take the piss incentive Anyway back to Kane Show Levy the world record and United will get him
Except they offered the same terms, so either both sides took the piss and Sporting were dumb enough to fall for it, or we accept what actually happened was Sporting expected an auction last summer and didn't get it so sold him to Man Utd for the same terms we offered in an attempt to save face This is the biggest problem with Spurs fans: every single time they fall for the obvious rage bait Take a look at the human* equivalent of that piece of skin between your testicles and your anus that is Adrian Durham. When he's discussing Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea he toes the party line because he doesn't want to piss off their fans - but when he talks about us he goes out of his way to talk absolute ****e because he knows he'll get the reaction he wants, namely our fans calling in so he can keep taking the piss And that's the same with the blogosphere, where there's no end to rage bait headlines because they know it will work. Case in point, last season one of the NewsNow regulars ran an article slagging off Levy because...Barca's training kit was the exact same as our away kit. Now to a normal human being the story would have been that Nike had realised they weren't being lazy enough with their kit designs so were just mixing and matching various teams' training and away kits - but no, because Spurs fan bite on the rage bait every single time, it's obviously Levy's fault that Nike are the laziest kit manufacturer out there that they can't even be bothered to make sure the shirts they charge full price for are different from ones they don't Same goes for the rage bait headlines doing the rounds lately of us potentially losing an international defender worth an obviously made-up figure this summer which each and every time are about Vertonghen, because they know that somebody out there is snorting and muttering about Levy Don't Spurs fans see that we're turning into Daily Mail readers with how easily the hacks press our buttons because they know it'll work every single time?
Except you are wrong hbic. @Spurlock is correct. The overall package including realistic add ons united are paying more than what levy offered for fernandes
Except that it isn't, as the payment schedule is far less favourable to Sporting than the one we offered them And let's not forget that Sporting inserted an €85m release clause into Fernandes' contract in September after their attempt at playing transfer window chicken backfired - yet at no point will Man Utd ever pay €85m for Fernandes, as the offer was €55m + add-ons, but that's not important right now...
Eredivisie Rando Watch Since the papers are only interested in reporting about first team players leaving rather than joining, something which they seem to be incapable of considering for The Sheikh Mansour Team in spite their offering as much Champions League football next season as Luton, that means we're left with more youth team starlets - in this case Feyenoord U17 centre back Lamare Bogarde, with our scouts reportedly raving over what they've seen You know, those scouts who have been at home for the last few weeks - as has Bogarde for that matter...
Meunier Watch Le10 Sport report that we have had "very insistent" talks with Thomas Meunier, with PSG giving a Parisien shrug to the thought of letting him leave for rien this summer I mean what could possibly go wrong with signing a PSG right back?
I think with the financial uncertainty at the moment we’ll see a lot more links with free/ cheap players. Meunier being one. The likes of Willian and Godín have been mentioned recently by the media whilst I wouldn’t be completely surprised if we went back in for Giroud too. I’d still expect one or two substantial buys but in general I think experienced freebies/ cheap buys will be where we do our business, as will most/ all other clubs.
Considering this summer is the last window where we can sign EU prospects before they turn 18, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of additions along those lines, and we've been linked with a few of those lately (namely Lamare Bogarde, Nawaaz Landfeld, Kevin Ciubotaru) and we've obviously been working on that end in the last couple of years with Troy Parrott, Yago Santiago and Isak Solberg
Diop Watch FootMercato are reporting than Issa Diop has been asking his former Toulouse teammate about the prospect of joining him in N17 Permission to once again be annoyed that, because we didn't shift the non-HG deadwood, we were unable to sign him from Toulouse in the summer of 2018?
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that we're in contact with Barca over a swap deal, with Arthur coming our way while Ndombele heads theirs Naturally the Twitter crowd are joyous at the news of a Barca player signing for us, but one look at his stats this season raises an obvious issue Games: 23 Starts: 15 Goals: 4 Assists: 4 Injury layoffs: 6 More than anything else, while he's drawn the inevitable Xavi/Iniesta comparisons due to being a CM who plays for Barca, those comparisons are wholly inaccurate as Barca themselves disagree as they play Frenkie de Jong in that role, while Arthur is used in a more Modric/Rakitic role...you know, the one Harry Winks plays in those few times he isn't deployed as an ersatz DM And this is the biggest issue: if we played 433 next season with Arthur and Lo Celso but no DM, we'd just get a repeat of this season, because CMs who move the ball forward aren't a problem for us - the lack of CMs who can stop the ball going through our midfield has been the problem since last season
...and for this evening's Ndombele Barca swap deal headline Honestly, of the options that definitely don't sound made up doing the rounds, this one sounds better as we rebuild half of our back four in one go, meaning we can focus on that DM we need
Diario Sport running with the story that Meunier has agreed terms with us. Another PSG right back, oh boy!
