Strange window. No one’s made any major moves really except arguably us and Utd yet not getting a striker in has really put a dampener on it. Gio perm - great Gedson loan to buy - promising Bergwijn perm - great. Solid D+ maybe even a C-, striker bumps that way up to a B+| A-.
Steven Nzonzi has just joined Rennes on loan until the end of the season. Wouldn't have minded that one to tide us over and give us time to get someone more long-term in the summer.
Just one of many that I think Spurs could/should have got involved with this window. I can’t believe the club haven’t signed a striker or full back.
There's a small sense of irony that we're loaning out essentially our second most senior striker at a time where... Yeah, you know.
He needs match fitness thanks to Doncaster misdiagnosing a leg injury as a dead leg back in September, then having him train on said leg injury with the expected results
Wanyama continues to be a limpet, even though Lazio, Fiorentina, Amiens and Leganes have all been linked in the last couple of days please log in to view this image
It's gone time for ending this nonsense. He isn't getting a better deal than he's on with us, unless he becomes a free agent. I'm sure that he'll leave, if we make it worth his while and we need to accept that we're not getting a fee for him. That way, we might save some of the wages that he's due? We've got to hope that we've replaced him come the end of the summer window...surely?
It must be down to bare figures. How much Spurs pay him as against how much transfer they want and of course Wanjama's demands. I think if we keep him it will be because of the contract. Selling players is becoming a huge issue, and the higher up Spurs are in world terms the harder it becomes. You would think this would be addressed in some way when making the initial contractual arrangements with the player but it seems not. Can we get Steve Bruce to fall in love with him?
IIRC the stories linking him with Celtic earlier in the window said we'd be paying a chunk of his wages for the remaining 18 months of his contract to get him off the books, and I'm going to presume the same applied for Amiens and Leganes
Shillow Tracey gone on loan to Macclesfield. Every time I notice Spurs tweet, a small part of me hopes to see “we are delighted to announce...” but with each tweet that passes, a percentage of hope dies with it
