He'll be 30 soon, if he were gonna work on his shooting he'd have done it long before now Agree though, so long as he's remains fit and is managed better, Sissoko could very well have an even better season. Really looking forward to him and Ndombele in the middle of the park, that's a beast of a pairing and potentially better than prime Dembele and Dier/ Wanyama.
GOATs don't age, they just get bored of being GOATs for so long and subconsciously let the high standards slip.
Saliba Watch Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere on here, but reports suggest that we didn't lodge our bid until the Nomads were boarding their flight for the USA of America The real reason I'm mentioning this is because I love the mental image of the plane's door slamming shut behind the entire Nomad contingent, and the second it does a spy disguised as a member of ground staff gets on the phone to Levy and tells him now is the time to lodge a bid Eriksen Watch Not sure why Poch has turned into SHODAN, but... Exodus Watch It's been reported that we have offered Big Vic around various Premier League clubs, yet there has been a complete lack of interest from anyone. Obviously his injury problems would play a large part in this, but this also asks the question: if we are looking to move him on, if there's no interest in the Premier League where can we move him to? His knee issues likely rule out the Bundesliga or Serie A (for very different reasons) and I doubt he'll accept dropping down a tier to the Championship so, while Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie can't be ruled out, the odds are he either ends up moving to Turkey this summer or the most likely scenario of him moving to either the MLS or China in January I can see similar problems with GKN, too - no Premier League club would be interested, Ligue 1 clubs would hardly be tempted given what a disaster his loan to Monaco was last season, and I very much doubt any La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A club would have any interest whatsoever
The notion that Levy was waiting for confirmation that the flight was now off the ground before making his move, is amusing (and if actually true adds another 100 pts to his boss/legend level) . ... Do not want Big Vic to just be offloaded to any old shower of sh*te (he deserves better than that when he finally goes) . GKN I suspect will be like the Poch purges of 2014 and 2015 (Levy will be told to get rid and if that means a financial loss so be it) .
Zaniolo Watch Reports in the Gazetta dello Sport suggest the Nomads are looking to match any offer we make for Zaniolo in "revenge" for our bidding for Saliba So which centre back are they going to include in their package then?
I have found some footage for the Goons to watch, that shows how Levy operates in summer transfer windows ...
Guess it depends. He’s the most decorated player in history and knows City will win at least one trophy which will add to his collection but with both Walker and Danilo there, his play time would surely be limited(?). With us, he’d probably slot into the XI albeit likely needing to be managed as his age wouldn’t cope with a 38 game Prem season. May or may not finally win a trophy with some additions too, someone like him around would likely do us wonders though.
Pretty sure City are not looking to unload Danilo. If they are indeed after Alves then it will be as a speciality player in the CL to bring some guile to the team/defence and possibly with a view to him joining the coaching staff in a year or two.
Rumour is a couple of Italian clubs (Juve, Inter and until recently Napoli) are interested in Danilo and that City are keen to get rid after an underwhelming couple of seasons. He's 28 and unlikely to get any better. Although any move to Juve is likely to involve Cancelo moving in the opposite direction, which makes Alves to City less likely than if Danilo were to move anywhere else. I personally think we'll need to shift current FB incumbents before bringing anyone else in. My gut instinct is that Lo Celso is the only player we're working on who is unattached to any outgoings. The likes of Alves and Sessegnon aren't going to happen until any two of Rose/Trippier/Aurier leave the club.
Just read on the Guardian page that you will be keeping Eriksen because basically nobody else wants him.
It's looking that way. As has been discussed to death on here already, of the handful of non-pl clubs who would represent a solid step up for him, only Real have a pressing need for a new CM. And they have shown literally zero interest in him. I'm delighted tbh as I regard him as our second or third most important player (after Kane and Jan). I also think that with a proper central midfield partnership operating behind him he will be able to impact games more. The issue will be if he stays next season but also refuses to sign a new contract. Losing him on a free would be mighty painful and would also get me worrying that his heart is no longer in it (there were indications of this toward the end of last season). He always comes across as a very sensible, grounded individual (unlike the CM Real will probably end up going for instead of him *cough*), and I hope if it comes he will take the snub in good grace, knuckle down and commit the remainder of his peak years to Spurs. In any event, even if he does stay we urgently need to either work on playing a totally different system or bringing in proper cover for him. The guy plays 50-60 games every single season because without him our creativity goes out the window and we look totally clueless in the final third. This is why I think he pulls out of every 50/50 tackle and ducks out of heading the ball...if he gets injured we are utterly screwed against anyone with a semi-decent defence. The Lo Celso links suggest that we are looking to fix this as he has the skill set to either cover for Eriksen in our usual 4-2-3-1 or to unlock a Pool-style 4-3-3.
