I don't think that's true. How many late contributions has he made in important runs? Did either of them actually say that about him?
Big games against big teams...you know when it comes to the trophy stage then we are faced with the big teams and that's when you got to be ready. All our play goes through him...of course he's instrumental in alot of what we do...but big game mentality is all important. No one expects him to perform in every game. Were not winning anything unless we tackle the big games that's about mentality on the day.
Anyway...Alli is another one Needs to up his game this season. Main reason I want us to get another top CM...to make Alli realise he can be benched.
I think that's more to do with poor team selection and stupid decisions, like playing an unfit Kane. Every. ****ing. Time.
Why are you guys selling Alderweireld? I would get him wanting to go to a bigger club but why Roma? Surely he would sign a new deal if offered - do you actively want to sell him?
His contract expired and we took an option to extend it for a year, which opens a short window in which we have to accept £25m bids. If we're actively trying to sell him, then I assume it's because he won't sign a new deal and we don't want to risk him leaving for nothing. Another year and back to Ajax would be fine, but if he were to join a rival club it would be a nightmare.
Knockout games are different...one offs. Or the end of season games that are like knockouts. I've seen him play in 2 finals for us and both times he's gone into a shell. I still shudder at how he panicked in the closing stages of the City KO game. N'Dombele will hopefully rub off onto a few of our players...he seems like he embraces the challenge.
No one turned up for us in the League Cup final or the Champions League final though, so why single out Eriksen? He was only about 21-22 in the League Cup final too, as was a lot of our team that day. He has turned up in semi finals, derbies, European games and contrary to the ‘end of season games’ comment, in the final eight league games last season he got three goals and three assists - more than any other Spurs player. He’s probably our best big game player when going through the stats. Because he didn’t turn up in one or two it doesn’t mean he doesn’t turn up in any.
PLENTY money, as I have told you all numerous times. "You’re basing your reasoning on possibly wanting Eriksen gone based on zero evidence. If he doesn’t want competition for his spot, then why on earth would he want to join Real Madrid where their depth is far greater than ours?" My evidence is that he made a "come and get me" signal via a hackneyed euphemism. With 4 weeks to go, nobody of consequence has responded. CE phone "new challenge" home. Recipients diverted him to voice mail. So his Spurs future will be decided in the next 4 weeks. Wanna try and run the contract clock down to zero ?? Not happening. Wanna go to a PL rival ?? I refer you to the case file labelled "Walker" (buying club have nearly all the money ready UP FRONT) .
Yeah I know about the release clause - I just assumed he would have accepted a new contract rather than go to Roma. Seems strange that he would take a backward step
I can see why Roma would want him. I don't see why he'd want to join Roma. Europy football at the running track arena alongside Fazio? Really? Strange one.
Yeah I think it’d show he’s more about the money than anything else (assuming Roma offer him more than the £130k+ we did) but I guess it’s his prerogative. I’m happy, wait, not happy but content that if he is to go it’s abroad. Would be pissed if he joined a Prem side.
