My only concern is him having a sulk like a selfish bastard because he didnt get his move thus jeopordising our season again

Despite the praise Eriksen has been getting for not acting like 'Bale' or 'Modric'. He spent the last 6 months playing like the big picture at Spurs is not his problem...it didnt go unnoticed.

I don't think that he's that type at all...and that's part of why Madrid won't want him. He's very much a cold fish and once his future is settled, no matter where, I think that he'll get back to playing his football at a higher level than parts of the second half of last season.

I don't think that he likes uncertainty and anything putting him off his game and for that reason, I think Madrid would be a terrible environment for him. If he was subjected to what Bale's getting now and Modric got to start his time there, I think that he'd really struggle. Of course, it could be the making of him but somehow, I doubt it.

I don't think our whole team was on song, hence why I won't choose to single out individuals for a bad collective display overall.

Our POTY this season had huge spells of inconsistency himself, surely that tells you everything about how the season went?

I think he would have done well at Spurs, knows the PL and has the talent and technique. For £22 million or even £30 million in today’s world it’s a steal.

I dont expect Trippier to perform wirh the same distinction as Eriksen. As much as its a team game each one has an individual barrier. Trippier needs exchanging and Eriksen needs to focus...both require a step up in their own way if we aim to be a better 'team'. To be honest...it tells us alot about our squad. it tells us we need consistency and therefore everyone must be focused...it tells us something about our level as a team that someone as inconsistent as Son takes our POTY award.

We have had too many mental weak points under Poch's reign that mentality is always a concern for me and always a focus going foward.

You’ve somewhat hit the nail on the head there - “it tells us something about our level as a team that someone as inconsistent as Son takes our POTY award.” - It’s the team that underperformed not just one individual, yet Eriksen has been crucified for it for some reason.

No one disputes Eriksen was below par this season but he wasn’t the only one, to say it was he who jeopardised our season is way OTT.

We've had a good long time to look at him in the PL and decided not to try to sign him. Like Tielemans, Berge and plenty of others before him...that's fine if we sign someone better...preferably 2 of them and their identities seem to be pretty clear.

We'd best not come up empty handed again or all hell will break out and rightly so.

It is a steal I agree, but not if we need to put that £22m towards a £70m expense...

I know....unless the Lo Cielso transfer breaks down, it looks like we're not in the market....but who knows?

Leicester must be pressing damned hard but the player and/or Monaco seem to be holding out for something more...

This is the stress-inducing part (not knowing what activity may be currently
    "under the radar" etc) . :( :)

"Leicester must be pressing damned hard but the player and/or Monaco seem to be holding out for something more..."

Monaco probably just want a bidding war to get going.
Other than that, perhaps payment terms to get as much upfront as possible.

Leicester could potentially pick him up at the last minute at far less
than the 40m touted, but sadly we all know far too well that is high risk poker playing.

Of course, Agent Dele hanging out with Sancho in Beverley Hills has nothing to do with him turning down Man Utd...

    Ndombele Watch

    Clenching...clenching...

    Fernandes Watch
The Torygraph have claimed that we were in talks with Bruno Fernandes' agent Miguel Pinho when Pinho was in London last week, and we're on the verge of agreeing a £45m deal

You read that right, £45m. For a player touted around for £70m.

    Andersen Watch
BT are the latest publication doing their bit for the reputation of the ever-reliable Danish press as they are reporting that, if we actually manage to get a Ndombele transfer over the line, Lyon will reinvest some of that fee into signing Joachim Andersen

He's supposed to be on our list for Toby replaments, isn't he? I guess that clubs must agree not to pursue certain targets in exchange for pushing through a different deal, a bit like the NFL and trading draft picks?

I'm sure that we'd rather Lyon sign him than Arsenal?

There's a few reasons to believe neither scenario might be true
i.) According to the Gazetta dello Sport, Sampdoria rejected the Nomads' bid for Andersen & Praet out of hand
ii.) Danish sports papers have a real bad habit of making **** up to fill column inches, even compared to ours
iii.) While I don't deny Lyon are likely to be looking to sign a centre back this summer given Marcelo is 32, Jeremy Morel 35 (and out of contract this summer anyway) and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is the Adebayor of centre backs, I can't see it being the position they're going to focus on this summer: while they've replaced Mendy already and the potential Ndombele replacement is reportedly having their medical on Monday, the most important issue for them is replacing Nabil Fekir as he's out of contract next summer while they may also need to sign a striker as a few clubs are sniffing around Moussa Dembele - and right back could be an issue too, given Rafael is out of contract this summer while Kenny Tete isn't keen to serve as Leo Dubois' understudy

Also, given we're talking about Andersen, I really don't see him as a direct replacement for Toby, as his style of play makes him appear to be a long-term replacement for Verts more than anything else
