Judging by reports it looks like we'll have £100m plus whatever we make from sales. If we could bring in: Tielemans - £40m. Grealish - £25m-£30m (dependent on Villa's promotion or not). New RB - £30m. Bale - £10m. Sessegnon - £25m. That'd come to around £135m. Realistically the likes of Aurier, Trippier, Wanyama, GKN, Lamela and Janssen all need to be sold which should definitely fetch a bit more than the extra £35m we'd need for the incomings (around £70m?). Whatever's left over can also go towards potentially replacing Toby and Eriksen (who'll also bring in good money, well Eriksen will anyway). A lot of work but then after the barren spell over the last two windows, a lot of work is needed. So anyway, I look forward to being disappointed come deadline day
If we could get Bale on a "pay as you play" contract, I would be happy. But quarter of a million quid, per week, for somebody who is pretty much guaranteed to spend a fair bit of time injured, is a bit much! But I know this option will not happen. So it's a firm no from me.
I don't get the lap dog reference tbh. I just meant we were the underdogs against Madrid last year and look how that turned out Hoping that experience will be a good thing come the 1st. Could also go the other way in terms of pressure on us. The fact we have a keeper now who doesn't gift goals is deffo a bonus
I don't mean to alarm anybody, but... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Somebody's actually bloody signed for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As the Stavanger Aftenblad has a headline of him signing for us followed by a demand that you cough up to read more, instead I'll try and piece together what I can...and yes, he exists, he's on Transfermarkt and everything Having previously been on trial with us in July last year (source: Aften Posten) Norway U16 goalkeeper Isak Solberg was offered a three-year contract in October (source: Dag Bladet) but, due to being just 15 years of age, was not able to officially sign a contract until he turned 16 so remained at Bryne, however when he turns 16 he will join our Academy which is down to its last eight keepers (and, no, that is not a joke) Bryne general manager Asle Tjotta has also stated that we have agreed a compensation fee for Solberg, even though potentially he could have left for nothing as he had no official contract at Bryne due to his age and him playing for their U19s
Lower League Rando Watch As we haven't been linked with a Championship full back for a while, we're being linked with Bristol City left back Lloyd Kelly after he's had a debut season that's put him on the radar of the usual clubs who are linked with Championship players who've had an impressive debut season Bundesliga Rando Watch Meanwhile, fulfilling the quota of Bundesliga randos is Freiburg centre back Robin Koch with fees varying from £12m to £20m being bandied about, but other than the potential headline of Koch crows for Spurs if he heads in a last minute winner I cannot see any logical reason for him to be linked, as he's the sort of defender who can head the ball out of the area all day long if needed but his ball control and passing ability are on a par with Fazio's - more than anything else, he's 22, so he'd be a waste of a non-HG spot when we'd be just as well off with CCV in reserve as he still counts as U21 next season and has already qualified as HG (although funnily enough, nobody seems to have a problem with a USA of America international not qualifying as HG in MLS...)
Griezmann’s confirmed he’s leaving Atleti. If it wasn’t for the fact it’s been obvious for about 12 months now that he’s Barca bound I’d say he’d be an amazing signing for us.
Where does this leave Coutinho, I wonder? Looks like either him or Dembele will be shown the door this summer. £110m is a heck of a lot of money, even for the Catalan giants. I'd imagine this means one in, one out.
If they don’t win Europa they’re ****ed. They really need CL football. Real want Auba. Barca want Laca. They’re lumbered with Ozil earning so much dough that the rest of the key players aren’t happy (hence Ramsey’s departure). I never thought I’d root for Chelsea so badly to win a game of football but COME ON CHELSEA!!!
Brother Bob, whenever it comes to Arsenal facing someone, I’m a Dier Hard (see what I did there?) fan of the opposition. Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea! Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelseaaaaaa! Great song, love it.
