I hear that one of the signs of the apocalypse is Spurs signing Tielemans and Rabiot in the same transfer window.
GKN's agent is mouthing off to France Football, claiming that Joe Lewis wouldn't let his client leave in the summer. Here's a few more feasible reasons why his client didn't leave during the summer a.) We wanted to sell, but the only offer we received was a loan deal from Saint-Etienne b.) We would've sold him if Anthony Georgiou didn't get injured in mid-August c.) The rest of the world forgot that GKN exists
I'm sure Harry Hotspur is banging his pudgy face into his keyboard as we speak so he can turn this non-story into a drawn-out rant that's as tedious as it is unpleasant...
That would explain why he said Oliver Skipp and Shilow Tracey made their debuts against the Scammers...

There's rumours that Llorente will be headed to Leeds in January to reunite with his former Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa, which definitely doesn't sound like the latest round of hacks assuming that we'll be sending someone Leeds' way since Bielsa took charge...
An interesting press conference with MP, touching on transfer business... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ottenham-cannot-repeat-painful-disappointing/ Stressing the importance of home grown status is worth revisiting. Moving on 1 non-HG player doesn't help much, as we're currently unable to field 25%. So, if we move on Mousa Dembele, it's not nearly enough. We really need to move on 2 or 3, not including Danny Rose or any other HG players. Who the hell we'll get in that's HG, I can't imagine. I doubt that Villa will be up for selling Grealish or Bournemouth selling Cook.
Goalkeeper's the obvious area, but even that's tricky. Move on Vorm and bring in... who? Someone like Butland would expect to be starting or at least pushing for regular cup starts, so where would that leave Gazzaniga? Perhaps a keeper on their way out, but who is there? One other possibility would be to target a side like Southampton, who are struggling but have lots of English players. You'd expect Hughes to get the boot soon though, which might scupper that opportunity. Maybe replace Llorente with an English equivalent? It all looks a bit desperate, doesn't it?
Nationality is irrelevant. The player has to have been registered to an English pyramid club for 3 years before he's 21, IIRC. Dier misses out by about six months, as does Davies, as Swansea were classed as Welsh for that purpose for years, stupidly. Not even our homegrown players count as homegrown! Fabregas is homegrown, for example. Club grown is another factor. We could conceivably bring back ex-players, I guess? That would do it.
Not in the CL they don't. Ben Davies is HG in the PL but not in the CL. Frustratingly,Eric Dier isn't in either.......and my typing is very slow.
That's why I thought there might be something to the Oliver Burke rumours a few weeks back, as he's essentially a homegrown GKN (i.e. the pacy option off the bench who can start low-priority cup games) - and to answer Spurf's question... ...Burke came through Forest's youth system so there won't be any issue there, similar to how there was no problem with Gareth Bale as he came through Southampton's youth team It's also worth pointing out that, after the cockup with Ben Davies' HG status, The FA and FAW got around to fixing it so players who came through the ranks at Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Wrexham, Colwyn Bay and Merthyr Town are considered HG due to playing in the English league system
Yuri Berchiche, the Basque Spanish-Algerian left-back for Bilbao, would count as both club and homegrown!
It's alright everyone, I've found the perfect replacement for Llorente in January. Homegrown, clubgrown, big, difficult to deal with striker who can come on late and make an impact... please log in to view this image
The home grown issue is two fold as well as finding HG players who are good enough there is the premium that being HG adds to a players value. Looking at January assuming no that there no departures and with Sissoko now being a genuine midfield option, how many players do we really expect to arrive. HG midfield options would possibly include Grealish and Cook as Brian said, others maybe Loftus-Cheek, but Chelsea would be unlikely to do business with, so maybe James Ward-Prowse who seems to have gone backwards under the last 2 saints managers but there is still potential in him that Poch could unlock. After that there are punts like Bradley Dack from Blackburn or Ollie Watkins from Brentford.
