I think he'd be OK in our system. Pep and Wenger were both pondering £20m bids for him last summer. He's not on Jan's technical level but he's not a "lump it" type CB either. For £3.5m, Leicester's picking up a £15m-£20m calibre CB in my opinion, very good business on their behalf. With Toby likely off, we could've done a lot, lot worse than Evans as cover for Jan and Dave, especially with question marks over the immediate futures of Foyth and CCV.
Smart move, experienced (and still a good) keeper, well respected in the dressing room, be interesting to see who's second choice next season between him and Gazza.
Interest cooled in Zaha (thought that was obvious weeks back tbh). Supposedly front of the queue to sign Jack Grealish. A deal I'd quite like to see, have become a big fan of his over recent months, watched a few Villa games in the hope to have seen Onomah show his stuff but Grealish has often been the standout. Had his issues in the past but his talent is way beyond the Championship and his potential is top 4-6 worthy, especially under Poch's guidance. Would be good to finally have someone give Eriksen some cover and competition.
He seems to have his head down..if he keeps it down and we sign him, I reckon he could move his game up a notch.
I'd like to see Gazza given that back up roll next season with Vorm mentoring him and the other young keepers. His talent is there and if it can be developed more Hugo might have some competition and possible correct the obvious flaws in his game. Then we'll have 2 top keepers. '
Yeah I think Bruce made him knuckle down and cut out the party boy/ lad antics. Can definitely improve with us, got bags of talent. Not sure on the quoted £40m though, unless it’s a deal worth up to that amount based on performance related stuff.
Surely you mean congratulate me, mate? It’s happening, Spurly, trust me on this ****. I’ve been calling everything so far like mystic meg - new deals for Poch & staff, new deals for players and now it’s onto phase three where we’ll sign one or two really good squad options (like Grealish) and then phase four is the marquee signing.
There's a bit of press about us flashing the cash and paying wages that our competitors aren't able to compete with....... http://www.constructionenquirer.com...ses-to-spurs-in-recruitment-fight-for-sparks/ Maybe one or two of them could bring their boots and light up the new stadium.....
That often happens in industry (a project arises that is paying higher than market rates) . However, new WHL is a short-term gig, so freelance bods will obviously try to make hay on that one.
