Having one of those 3 on the bench sounds like a strong squad to me. Draxler will be the next one out, he never met expectations in the French league let alone the CL which is why they went so strong for Neymar. I will reserve judgement on the defence until they have had a full season together.
"So they are constantly upgrading their first team? sounds like good policy to me." Just admit that you're wrong. Things move along quicker when you do.
So the window shut a few days ago, and already we have speculation about who we'll be signing in the summer! Here's the quick bullet points * Malcom has said he wants to leave Bordeaux in the summer * Philipp Max has said he wants a Premier League move, although Augsburg want €30m for him (and Taurine FC Leipzig are sniffing around) * Mateo Kovacic has been linked once more, because of course he has It's also been reported that we've dropped our interest in Max Meyer, meaning that either we wasted eighteen months (at least...) scouting him, or we dropped our interest at least twelve months ago when it became apparent he's the exact sort of player that Poch doesn't have time for due to him having a reputation for being disruptive in the dressing room while having an Ozil level of interest in the match if the other team happen to have the ball.
Steven Caulker, the once touted potential future heir to Ledley here at Spurs, has signed an 18 month contract with Dundee. please log in to view this image I'll still never quite understand why on earth he chose to leave after his breakthrough season. He done so well for the most part and played in some massive games yet felt his career (and potential England career) would be better served at Cardiff...
I've said it a few times, but the prospects we expect to step up somehow don't make it, yet the low-key ones we forget about are those that do step up. Townsend and Caulker were expected to be the ones to go onto big things from their group, instead it was Kane and Livermore Carroll, Pritchard and Coulibaly were expected to be the ones to step up, instead it was Bentaleb and Mason Veljkovic was expected to be on the verge of a breakthrough, instead it's Winks that broke through That's why I worry that CCV and Edwards are about to go the same way, and they'll be mentioned in passing as someone like Roles or Shashoua break into the team
Yup, very much plausible, especially given the recent comments from Daniel Farke about Edwards needing to man-up. No doubting Edwards in terms of technical ability is without question the best we've seen in the academy for yonks but if his mentality isn't right then he could end up another Taarabt. Taarabt to this day still baffles me as to how he never pushed on, the guy had skill that would've made Neymar/ Messi/ Ronaldo jealous yet just never seemed to mature as a player, last I heard of him he was playing for Benfica's B team at the age of 26, must be 28/ 29 now. As for CCV, it's difficult, he looks like a beast of a CB in the making but where does he fit in? Providing Jan and Toby stick around, no one's getting in over them and so he then has to compete with Dave and Foyth, Dave is certainly better while Foyth, like CCV, has much to improve on but shows big potential. Roles is someone I'm surprised hasn't seen some form of first team action, I know he got injured earlier in the season but he was excellent last year and has seemingly rediscovered his form since returning. He's like the Frank Lampard of academy football what with the amount of goals he gets from CM.
For those that watched the game, you'd have noticed Poch and Perez were in attendance for Watford's demolition of Chelsea the other night so the Fail decided that he was there scouting Doucoure. IF there's any hint of truth in that, then yes please. Had a good season so far and was dominant against Chelsea, seems a real handful of a player, reminds me a little of like a younger, raw Yaya Toure.
I've said this a few times on here, Doucoure would fit in really well at Tottenham. He can beat players and make things happen. Unfrtunately, he is unlikely to be cheap.
I watched the second half and was impressed by him. Real box to box engine room player. Like Sissoko except he doesn't panic with a ball at his feet. Problem is he'll be PL premium. £35m minimum in today's market. Definitely one for the Dembele Replacement shortlist.
£35m in this market? So you mean it's possible for us to offer Watford a player who was (supposedly) worth £30m two years ago, and with inflation as it is that would make a straight Sissoko/Doucoure swap not sound like something that happens on FIFA? Of course, it's worth mentioning that we were being heavily linked with Richarlison a few months ago, but the hacks seem to have forgotten he exists - but that doesn't mean Poch has...
Is it worth mentioning that perpetual linkee Andre Gomes has started in this evening's Copa del Rey match against Valencia, and is currently getting a multilingual slating across social media for his abject performance?
Luke Shaw is set to sign a new deal at United after impressing the Moaning One this season. Our DOF better take note and realise if he doesn't improve sharpish he'll be playing for no better than Celtic next season.
Have changed the title and added to the original post so this can be used for the next set of transfer windows.
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f...adrid-Gareth-Bale-Tottenham-Manchester-United Levy unsettling via the bookies ??
I sincerely hope not. The only way we could afford him - assuming that is the player himself will accept a 70% wage reduction - is as part of a deal taking Alli, Eriksen or Son to the Bernabeu. Unless of course Levy has convinced them that Bale + £40m is a bargain for Sissoko.
So what would be an acceptable cost of getting Bale back - if you think he would be wanted at this stage of proceedings?
