There is no prospect that Spurs will sell Harry Kane this January or next summer. None. Real Madrid can do or say or act as they see fit. We won't be selling and they know it. At which point, if I was in Real Madrid's position, I would be saying what they've said......."We don't need him........Benzema is great........Blah, blah, blah."
I think what he said was 'at least 250 million Euros' so that is his starting gambit to try to get Levy interested. He's probably prepared to pay 350-400 Million Euros. He can Feck off. However, you are right, it boots Manure directly into touch and into row ZZ, but I doubt it will stop the Hacks saying one of the Mancs are prepared to pay £300M for him and pay him a million quid a week.
Get real Madrid know they have to undertake a massive unsettling campaign to get Kane on their terns. If Levy was to ask for just half of the 200+ million up front, they would be screwed (who could they possibly unload in the summer whose first payments would add up to that) . And if Walker is anything to go by, the upfront payment will be a lot closer to 100% than it will 50.
...despite having already imagined a conversation with Daniel Levy on the subject, during which a ball park sum is clearly mentioned.
So Man Utd supposedly ( if you believe the hacks) want our D.O.F who is 27 and don't want Shaw who is 22 and came good at Soton under Poch. What do you say Shaw +£40 mill for Rose?
I'd take that. Loved watching Danny in full flow but his comments left a sour taste and I feel that he wants out of Spurs now. Davies prior to his little injury had been superb, so providing he can pick up where he left off then Danny's departure won't be felt. If Poch can get Shaw firing like he did at Soton then we'll yet again have an excellent battle for the LB slot.
found it impossible to join in with the Danny Rose chant last night. I will never boo a spurs player but he has burnt his ties with me with all that 'I know what I'm worth ****' 2 days before the start of the season. I paid £35 for tickets (inc booking fees), £13 on travelling, £3.50 on a programme and £21 on food and drinks for me and my youngest daughter last night. £72.50 is a hefty chunk out of my £1120 take home pay per month. The lack of awareness about the money the rest of us earn for doing demanding jobs was beyond insulting when the twat complained about 'knowing his worth.' I don't really care we lost (would rather not obviously) and I don't really care what the players get paid but I do care when he moaned about £65,000 per week, plus bonuses, plus image rights plus sponsorship money not being the amount he is worth...so in my opinion I think he's a prick that I'd rather not have at my club. While Pochettino picks him I will support him as part of the team but I'm ****ed if I am gonna sing the greedy bastards name. Maybe he will do something to change my mind but I ain't holding my breathe.
Sell Rose for £60m and buy Sessegnon for £25m please. Shaw is a crock who is still living off of the reputation of one (admittedly excellent) season. David Bentley was also excellent for a season. It proves nothing.
Shaw is practically issuing a "come and get me" plea: "I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again." "He used to call me his son, that's how good our relationship was. I've had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up." "He made me feel that I was the best. He'd show me clips of my games and say, 'You should do this better'. Not in a horrible way. Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better."
Dejan Lovren has called MP his "footballing father", Adam Lallana is not alone in continuing to talk to his former manager. Just about all of his former proteges stay in touch. He must be some presence given that Hugo Lloris needed just one chat to reverse his decision to leave and Daniel Levy gave him a 5 year contract straight off. I reckon that there's some form of hypnosis involved. "Look at my stubble.......You are now feeling sleepy."
I know we'll never know what truly goes on behind the scenes but from the outset Poch and his staff seem like a great bunch of guys. Toni Jimenez looks like he'd be a great laugh on a night out but in general they all seem really decent. Though the moment you cross them, ala Kaboul, Ade, Townsend etc, you're ****ed - which I'd say is fair.
Here's one we won't be rumoured to be signing this January window: Leicester winger Demarai Gray has signed a new four-year contract.
With Kane off to Madrid along with Dele and Eriksen off to Barcelona along with Winks and Pochetinno off to Madrid or Manchester with Dier we are going to be very busy in January's window
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41901025 Would you now consider Shaw if Levy can sort out a proper transfer/wage cost deal ??
Not at all convinced although clearly has talent and if he is going to resurrect his career it is far more likely that Poch could be the man to assist. He would also likely agree to a Spurs wage deal if he sees us as his best option. But difficult to put a price on him currently and imagine Utd will be looking to recover the best part of their £27m investment. If Poch believes in him then that's fine by me - but he is undoubtedly a risk.
